Ficus benghalensis ‘Joy’ — Natural Elegance & Contemporary Touch
🌿 Gray-green foliage • ☀️ Indirect light • 💧 Moderate watering • 🏙️ Elegant indoor plant
The Ficus benghalensis ‘Joy’, also known as the banyan fig, captivates with its robust and modern look. Its thick, soft green foliage with a slight silver tint and light veins brings a calming and structured atmosphere to any interior. Elegant and easy to care for, this Ficus is perfect for creating a contemporary plant vibe in bright apartments.
☀️ Light & Placement
The Ficus ‘Joy’ enjoys bright, indirect light; avoid direct strong sunlight which can damage the leaves. Place it in a bright living room or office near a sheer window.
- Prefers well-lit rooms without cold drafts.
- Tolerates partial shade, but growth will be slower.
- Avoid moving the plant frequently, as it dislikes changes in location.
💧 Watering & Care
The Ficus benghalensis requires regular but moderate watering. Let the soil surface dry slightly between waterings. Too much moisture can cause yellowing or leaf drop.
- About once a week watering in summer; water less in winter.
- Occasionally mist the leaves to maintain good humidity.
- Clean the foliage with a soft cloth to keep its shine and promote photosynthesis.
🌿 Verdeia Tips
- Rotate your Ficus monthly for even growth.
- Add a mild liquid fertilizer every 4 to 6 weeks from spring to autumn.
- Repot every 2 years into a slightly larger pot with well-draining soil.
- Protect it from sudden temperature changes; it prefers stability.
- Monitor soil moisture: excess water is its main enemy.
✨ Decoration Ideas & Plant Pairings
With its upright form and dense foliage, the Ficus ‘Joy’ visually structures a room and matches all interior styles.
- Perfect in beige, matte black, or terracotta pots for a simple, natural look.
- Pair it with a Monstera deliciosa or Philodendron Imperial Green for a chic jungle vibe.
- Ideal near a mirror or window to reflect light on its satin leaves.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
