🌿 2 Alocasias with complementary foliage • 🎨 Striped stems + spectacular veins • ☀️ Partial shade • 💧 Moderate watering • 🏙️ XXL tropical duo
This Alocasia pack brings together two spectacular varieties of Elephant Ears with complementary foliage: the Alocasia Zebrina with its unique black and white striped stems and the Alocasia Lauterbachiana with long, dark green wavy leaves featuring very pronounced veins. Together, they form an imposing tropical duo — one of the most graphic packs in our selection of plant bundles.
Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, these two Alocasias share the same light and humidity needs — a maintenance consistency that simplifies their care. Everything you need to know to succeed with them is gathered in our complete guide to Alocasias.
The 2 varieties in this pack
This pack brings together two Alocasias with very different silhouettes that visually complement each other:
- Alocasia Zebrina — H80 cm | Pot Ø21 cm — large dark green arrow-shaped leaves supported by spectacular black and white striped stems. The main decorative feature is in the stems, unique in their kind.
- Alocasia Lauterbachiana — H80 cm | Pot Ø19 cm — long, narrow, wavy dark green leaves with very pronounced light veins, structured and slender growth. The most graphic and elongated of the Alocasias.
What is included in this pack
- 1 Alocasia Zebrina — H80 cm | Pot Ø21 cm
- 1 Alocasia Lauterbachiana — H80 cm | Pot Ø19 cm
Light & location
Both Alocasias in this pack share the same light requirements — bright indirect light to partial shade, avoiding direct sunlight that would burn their large leaves.
- Light: bright indirect light to partial shade — avoid direct sun.
- Ideal: living room, office, hallway, or bedroom with a well-exposed window without direct sun.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, without sudden changes or drafts.
- Substrate: rich, light, and well-draining — potting soil for green plants mixed with perlite.
Place the two plants side by side or slightly staggered — the Zebrina in the foreground to highlight its stems, the Lauterbachiana in the background to add depth with its long wavy leaves.
Watering & care
Both varieties share the same needs — a slightly moist substrate and high ambient humidity. The light-humidity balance is the most important factor to keep their foliage healthy.
- Watering: moderate — keep the substrate slightly moist without ever letting it become waterlogged.
- Frequency: about once a week in spring-summer, reduced in winter.
- Drainage: essential — pots must have drainage holes with well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: prefers 60–80% — mist regularly or place near a humidifier.
- Fertilizer: every 2 to 4 weeks in spring-summer with diluted liquid fertilizer for green plants.
- Cleaning: gently wipe leaves with a damp cloth — also clean the striped stems of the Zebrina to highlight their unique pattern.
If the leaves droop slightly, it is almost always a sign of lack of water — water them and they usually straighten up within 24 hours.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
This duo already creates a strong tropical composition by itself — but it can also be part of a more ambitious XXL composition.
- Complete this duo with a Strelitzia Nicolai with large paddle-shaped leaves — three very different silhouettes (striped / wavy / giant) for a XXL tropical trio that transforms a living room into an urban jungle.
- Place the Zebrina in the Elho Brussels Anthracite decorative pot Ø20 cm — the anthracite gray enhances the black/white contrast of the striped stems through strong color opposition.
- Place the Lauterbachiana in the Elho Greenville White pot Ø20 cm — the clean white highlights the light veins of the long wavy leaves with a soft and elegant contrast.
- For a very graphic living room corner, add a Philodendron Green Wonder with large bright green entire leaves — three foliage types in comparable sizes, three very different textures.
Verdeia tips
- Maintain high humidity for both plants: this is the most important factor — in heated apartments during winter, mist 2 to 3 times a week or place a humidifier nearby; brown edges on leaves almost always indicate air that is too dry.
- Clean the striped stems of the Zebrina once a month: dust dulls the black/white contrast of the stripes — a damp cloth passed over each stem instantly restores the unique decorative effect of this variety.
- Repot every 1 to 2 years in spring: into slightly larger pots with fresh, well-draining substrate — properly done, repotting restarts the rapid growth of both varieties and encourages the production of new large spectacular leaves.

What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
