Frequently Asked Questions
Why do Pothos stems grow long without leaves? A lack of light causes stretching — the stems elongate to reach the light, so move the plant closer to a natural light source.
Can you propagate a Pothos? Yes, cut a stem just below a node and place it in a glass of water — roots will appear in 2 to 3 weeks, and the cutting can then be potted in soil.

🌿 Intense green foliage • 🪵 Moss stake included • ☀️ Soft to bright light • 💧 Moderate watering • 🏙️ 3 sizes available
Epipremnum pinnatum, also known as Pothos, grown here on a moss stake, is a vigorous tropical climber native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. Its stems climb upward by attaching to the stake with aerial roots, displaying intense green foliage with a very structured vertical habit. It is one of the most accessible climbing plants in our indoor vines and climbers collection.
Toxic to cats and dogs — keep out of their reach.
Exposure & Location
Epipremnum pinnatum prefers soft to bright light without direct sun. The more light it receives, the denser and more vigorous its foliage becomes — in too dark a spot, stems elongate and foliage loses its vibrancy. Its vertical habit makes it especially effective in living room corners, near a bookshelf, or beside a bright window, as explained in our guide on balancing light and humidity for indoor plants.
- Exposure: soft to bright indirect light — avoid direct sun.
- Location: living room, office, library — on the floor or on furniture to let the stake structure the space.
- Temperature: 18–27 °C, no cold drafts.
Turn the pot a quarter turn every month to encourage even growth around the stake — without rotation, stems always grow toward the same light source.
Watering & Care
Epipremnum pinnatum tolerates missed waterings better than most tropical climbers. Let the top 2 to 3 centimeters of soil dry out before watering again — excess water softens stems and promotes root rot. Our guide on watering indoor plants explains how to adjust frequency by season.
- Frequency: once a week in summer, every 10–15 days in winter.
- Humidity: prefers a slightly humid atmosphere — occasional misting is beneficial.
- Care: prune overly long stems to thicken foliage and encourage new growth.
- Moss stake: lightly moisten the stake at each watering to encourage aerial roots to cling.
Aerial roots naturally attaching to the moss stake indicate the plant is thriving — do not remove them.
Decor Ideas & Plant Combinations
The moss stake gives Epipremnum pinnatum a natural, organic verticality that structures plant arrangements. Its intense green foliage captures light and enlivens bright corners of a living room or office.
- In a bright living room corner, place it in the Natural Selin Basket — the neutral woven texture contrasts with the dense green foliage and enhances the urban jungle vibe without weighing down the arrangement.
- Pair it with a Monstera deliciosa — the large perforated leaves of the Monstera and the climbing vertical habit of the Epipremnum create a balanced tropical composition in height and texture.
- For a climbing duo, pair it with a Philodendron scandens in a nearby hanging pot — the trailing stems of the Philodendron contrast with the vertical stake and create immediate plant depth.
- In a bright office, place it in the Capi Nature Groove taupe pot — the neutral striped texture of the pot lets the stake’s verticality and foliage density dominate the arrangement.
To explore further in tropical ambiance compositions, our guide helps you combine climbers, trailers, and ground plants coherently.
Verdeia Tips
- Wrap stems around the stake as they grow: manually guide new shoots toward the stake for a dense, harmonious plant — without guidance, stems grow in all directions.
- Easily propagate by cuttings: each stem cut just below a node roots quickly in water or directly in soil — a simple way to get new plants, detailed in our guide on propagation by cuttings.
- Reduce watering as soon as stems soften: soft stems at the base almost always signal overwatering — let the soil dry completely before watering again and check drainage.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.

Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
