Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Philodendron 'Lime' and the Philodendron 'Green Princess'? The 'Lime' has intense, bright lime green leaves, while the 'Green Princess' has softer, more classic green leaves — same compact size and same ease of care, but two very different decorative effects.
Is the Philodendron 'Lime' suitable for a windowless office? No, it needs indirect natural light to maintain its color and growth — a room without windows with only artificial lighting is not enough without an additional grow light.

🌿 Bright lime green foliage • ☀️ Bright indirect light • 💧 Moderate watering • 🌱 Very easy
Native to the tropical forests of South America, the Philodendron 'Lime' is a compact variety with a particularly striking color — its shiny bright lime green leaves bring immediate brightness to any interior, even without direct light. Like all Philodendrons, it naturally grows in the shaded understory of the Amazon, which explains its high tolerance for indirect light. Discover our entire Philodendron collection and our easy-care plants.
Which Philodendron variety to choose?
The Philodendron genus offers a huge diversity of shapes and colors — here’s how the 'Lime' ranks among the main varieties in the catalog:
- Philodendron 'Lime' (this plant) — bright and shiny lime green foliage, compact habit (H20 cm | Pot Ø12 cm). The brightest and most colorful version.
- Philodendron Birkin — dark green foliage striped with white, compact and graphic habit. The most elegant variegated version.
- Philodendron Prince of Orange — young bright orange leaves that turn green with age, upright habit. The most flamboyant version.
- Philodendron Green Princess — classic soft green foliage, compact habit. The most understated green version.
- Philodendron Selloum Atom — cut green foliage, very compact bushy habit. The most architectural small-format version.
- Philodendron melanochrysum — dark green velvety leaves with light veins, climbing habit, large size. The velvety collector’s version.
Light & location
- Light: bright indirect to partial shade — the brighter the light, the more intense the lime green. In shade, new leaves grow back a more ordinary green.
- Ideal: office, shelf, bedroom, living room, or any room with a window without direct sun.
- Temperature: 18 to 27 °C, without sudden changes.
- Substrate: light, rich, and well-draining — universal potting soil mixed with perlite.
Watering & care
- Watering: moderate — let the top 3 to 5 cm of substrate dry out between waterings. Yellowing leaves almost always indicate overwatering — mastering watering is key to a vigorous Philodendron.
- Frequency: about once a week in spring-summer, every 2 weeks in winter.
- Drainage: essential — pot with drainage holes and well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: prefers 50–70% humidity — mist occasionally or place near other plants.
- Fertilizer: once a month in spring-summer, diluted liquid fertilizer for green plants.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
- Color contrast: pair it with a Philodendron Birkin with dark green foliage striped with white — the lime green of the 'Lime' and the dark green of the Birkin create a very effective color contrast in the same size, as shown in our article Philodendron or Monstera: which to choose?
- Office composition: placed alone on a desk, its lime green foliage creates a bright focal point that energizes a workspace — pair it with a compact Peperomia to vary textures.
- Ideal pot: a white relief decorative pot highlights the lime green by contrast, or a blue relief decorative pot for a very graphic green-blue complementary combination.
Verdeia tips
- Keep bright light to preserve color: this is the main condition for the foliage to keep its characteristic lime green — in shade, new leaves gradually grow back ordinary green.
- Wipe its leaves once a month: dust dulls their shine and reduces photosynthesis — a damp cloth is enough to keep their bright glow.
- Rotate the pot every two weeks: the Philodendron 'Lime' orients its leaves toward the light — regular rotation ensures a compact and balanced silhouette from all sides.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
