Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my succulent stretching and losing its compact shape? This is etiolation — the plant stretches to seek more light. Move it to a brighter spot, ideally a sunny windowsill. The stretched part won’t regain its original shape, but new growth will be compact and well-formed in a better location.
Can succulents be left without watering during holidays? Yes — that’s one of their great advantages. Succulents store water in their leaves and can easily tolerate 2 to 4 weeks without watering depending on the season and room temperature. In summer, water well before you leave and they will manage on their own while you’re away.

Which succulent set to choose?

- Mix of 10 (this product) — H7 cm | Pot Ø5.5 cm. Intermediate size ideal for creating a first arrangement or giving as a gift.
- Mix of 20 succulents — same Ø5.5 cm size. For more generous arrangements or multiple gifts.
- Mix of 30 succulents — XXL size for large installations or creative workshops.
- Mix of 9 succulents Ø8.5 cm — slightly larger size, more developed plants.
- Mix of 18 succulents — same Ø8.5 cm size in a medium quantity.
- Aloe vera — individual succulent known for its purifying and soothing properties.
- Crassula tenelli — graphic individual succulent, elegant compact shape.
Why choose the set of 10? It's the ideal size to create a varied arrangement or to give several plants without feeling overwhelmed — enough diversity for an interesting visual effect, compact enough to fit on a shelf or windowsill.
Exposure & location
Succulents appreciate bright exposure — the more light they get, the more vibrant their colors. This is the opposite of ferns and shade-loving tropical plants.
- Exposure: full sun to partial shade, direct or bright indirect light.
- Ideal: sunny windowsill, bright shelf, desk, kitchen, or sheltered balcony.
- Temperature: 15 to 25 °C — tolerates down to 5 °C for some varieties.
- Substrate: very well-draining — special cactus and succulent potting mix with sand or perlite.
A south- or west-facing windowsill is the ideal spot for this mix — the colors of Echeveria and Sedum intensify with direct sun, creating spectacular pink, purple, and blue-gray shades.
Watering & care
The golden rule for succulents: better to underwater than overwater. Excess water is the main cause of death. Always wait until the substrate is completely dry before watering.
- Watering: low — let the substrate dry out completely between waterings.
- Frequency: about once every 2 weeks in spring-summer, once a month in winter.
- Drainage: essential — use pots with drainage holes and very well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: tolerate dry air — no misting needed.
- Fertilizer: once a month in spring-summer with diluted liquid cactus fertilizer.
During holidays, these plants do very well on their own — they can go several weeks without watering with no problem.
Decor ideas & uses
Their compact size and variety of shapes and colors make them perfect for arranging, collecting, or gifting.
- Plant arrangements: gather them in a shallow dish, a wooden tray, or a planter to create a graphic mini-garden. Add decorative gravel or sand between the plants for a clean desert effect.
- In combination: pair them with a Gasteria to enrich the palette of shapes and textures.
- Ideal pot: the mini decorative pots relief Ø7 cm are sized for this format — one per succulent for a neat individual presentation.
- Gifts: give them individually in small decorative pots — 10 plants, 10 original and lasting gifts.
Verdeia tips
- Overwatering is their only real enemy — succulents store water in their leaves and can easily survive several weeks without watering. Constantly moist substrate, however, causes silent and irreversible root rot. When in doubt, wait another week.
- Light enhances colors — the pink, purple, and bluish hues of many succulents are responses to sun exposure. In a dark spot, plants stay green and become leggy. More light = more color and a more compact shape.
- Easy to propagate — succulents root easily from leaves or rosettes. Simply place a healthy leaf on slightly moist substrate, in light, and small rosettes will appear at its base within a few weeks.
- Toxicity varies by variety — some species included in this mix may be slightly toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. If you have pets, place the plants out of reach or check the exact species received before allowing free access.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
