Frequently Asked Questions
How can I extend the blooming of my Anthurium? Place it in bright indirect light, remove faded spathes as soon as they lose their shine, and fertilize every 4 to 6 weeks in spring and summer.
Why are the bracts of my Anthurium fading? Lack of light is the most common cause — move the plant closer to a window without direct sunlight and the color will return on the next bracts.

🌸 Bright red bracts • 🌿 Glossy foliage • 💧 Moderate watering • 📏 H36 cm | Pot Ø12 cm
Anthurium Calon, also called Flamingo Flower, is a variety with bright red bracts and deep glossy green foliage — a bold and vibrant bloom that contrasts with the dark burgundy tones of the Anthurium Black Love. Native to the humid forests of Central and South America, it instantly brings a tropical touch to modern interiors. Discover our full Anthurium collection and our indoor flowering plants.
Easy to care for and generous in flowering, the Anthurium Calon is perfect to brighten up a living room, office, or entryway all year round — its bracts can last several months under good conditions.
Exposure & Location
The Anthurium Calon thrives in a bright environment without direct sunlight, which would quickly burn its bracts and delicate foliage.
- Exposure: bright indirect light to partial shade — east or north-facing window ideal.
- Ideal for: bright living room, office, bedroom, entryway.
- Temperature: 18 to 26 °C, protected from cold drafts.
- Substrate: rich, airy, and well-draining.
Watering & Care
- Watering: moderate — about once a week, let the substrate dry slightly between waterings. Check our complete watering guide to never overwater again.
- Humidity: prefers a humid atmosphere — regularly mist the foliage or group plants together.
- Fertilizer: every 4 to 6 weeks from spring to autumn, use fertilizer for flowering plants.
- Cleaning: gently wipe leaves with a damp cloth to maintain their shine.
- Repotting: every 2 years into a slightly larger pot, with an airy mix for epiphytes.
Decor Ideas & Plant Combinations
Its bright red bracts make it an accent plant that immediately draws the eye — it works especially well placed alone on a light surface that highlights its color.
- Floral duo: pair it with the Anthurium Black Love with its almost black burgundy bracts — two Anthuriums, two contrasting characters, a graphic and coherent floral composition.
- Tropical arrangement: combine it with a Spathiphyllum with white flowers — the bright red and white contrast creates a luminous and balanced effect.
- Decorative pot: a white or gold decorative pot brings out the bright red bracts without competing — avoid warm tones that clash with the plant’s color.
Verdeia Tips
- Remove faded spathes: as soon as a bract loses its brightness, cut it at the base — this stimulates new flower growth and keeps the plant in continuous blooming cycle.
- Use non-calcareous water: use filtered or room temperature water — lime dulls the glossy foliage and disrupts nutrient absorption needed for flowering.
- Reduce watering in winter: space out waterings and keep the plant away from radiators — dry heat from heaters is the main enemy of Anthuriums indoors.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
