🌿 10 original plants with unusual foliage and unique shapes • ✨ Extraordinary selection — rare or unusual varieties • 🎁 Each box is unique • 🏙️ For experienced enthusiasts or the curious • 📏 H20–30 cm | Pot Ø12 cm
The Box of Extraordinary Plants x10 is a plant selection designed to break away from the beaten path — 10 original plants chosen for their unusual foliage, unique shapes, or surprising colors, far beyond the usual varieties. Each plant has its own personality. Among the original and rare plants in the catalog, this is the most diverse and bold composition.
Ideal for city dwellers who want to create an eclectic mini-jungle or give a truly surprising plant gift to an already initiated plant lover.
Which surprise box to choose?
Verdeia offers several boxes depending on experience level and the number of plants desired. Here’s how to position the Extraordinary Box x10 among the catalog references:
- Extraordinary Box x10 (this plant) — 10 original and unusual plants Ø12 cm. The choice for a bold collection of unusual varieties.
- Originals Box x8 — 8 unique plants Ø12 cm. The choice for an original selection in a more compact format.
- Extraordinary Box x12 — 12 rare plants. The choice for the most ambitious composition in the catalog.
- Surprise Box x8 — 8 more accessible varied plants. The choice to start before exploring more original species.
Exposure & location
The plants in this box are selected from original species with varied needs — most thrive in bright indirect light, some tolerate partial shade or even full sun depending on their origins. Our guide to the best plants by room type helps find the best spot for each species according to available light.
- General exposure: bright indirect light for most — adjust according to each delivered species.
- Diverse needs: some original species have specific requirements — observe each plant individually upon receipt.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C overall — avoid cold drafts.
- Arrangement: vary heights and levels to highlight the uniqueness of each shape and foliage.
Arrange plants according to their natural growth habit — the most architectural and tallest at the back, the most compact and original in front — to create a plant scene that showcases each personality.
Watering & care
Original plants often have very different water needs than common species — some are succulents and drought-resistant, others tropical and moisture-loving. Our finger test is the universal method to calibrate watering for each plant individually without a fixed schedule. The common mistakes with indoor plants are often amplified with less common species — patience and observation are the best tools.
- Basic rule: water only when the surface of the substrate is dry — rule applies to all species in the box.
- Adapt by species: succulents and cacti tolerate prolonged dryness; tropicals prefer slightly moist substrate.
- Fertilizer: liquid fertilizer for green plants diluted once a month from March to September.
- Repotting: gradual according to each plant’s growth — our repotting guide details how to proceed for each type of species.
Note each plant’s needs upon receipt — a simple memo on your phone with the name and watering frequency of each will help avoid mistakes in the first weeks.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
10 original plants with unusual shapes and foliage offer total creative freedom — in a sophisticated plant collection or a creative office, each plant becomes a decorative object in its own right.
- For an eclectic jungle full of character, combine the 10 plants with the Kentia Palm in the background — its elegant arched fronds form a neutral tropical backdrop that highlights the originality of each of the 10 species in the foreground.
- For a spectacular wall shelf, arrange plants of different sizes and habits on several levels with matching decorative pots — the variety of shapes creates a very dynamic visual relief and movement.
- To expand the collection, combine it with the Surprise Box x8 — the more accessible species of the x8 balance the more original species of this box and create a collection of 18 plants with a wide range of care levels.
- To highlight each personality, choose decorative pots in varied styles from the decor collection — a wicker pot for tropical plants, ceramic for succulents, metal for architectural species — the contrast of containers amplifies the uniqueness of each species.
This box is also an excellent base to explore new species and deepen your knowledge of the plant world — each original plant is an invitation to discover a new natural environment.
Verdeia Tips
- Identify each plant upon receipt: photograph and research the name of each delivered species to know its specific light, water, and humidity needs — original plants often have particular requirements that observation alone cannot reveal.
- Acclimate each plant gradually: rare or unusual species are often more sensitive to transport stress than common varieties — leave each plant 2 to 3 weeks in its delivery pot before any repotting or major relocation.
- Observe and adjust rather than intervene immediately: an original plant that seems stressed in the first weeks often recovers on its own once acclimated — wait 3 weeks before drastically changing watering or exposure conditions if no serious decline signs are visible.

Our Verdeia commitments
FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
