Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ficus Audrey lose its leaves when moved? It tolerates location changes better than Ficus benjamina, but partial leaf drop can still happen when moved — choose its permanent spot upon delivery and the plant will stabilize within a few weeks.
How do you care for the velvety leaves of Ficus Audrey? Gently wipe each leaf with a slightly damp cloth every 3 to 4 weeks — the velvety texture traps more dust than smooth leaves, which reduces photosynthesis if this care is neglected.

🌿 Soft velvety light green oval leaves • ☀️ Bright indirect light • 💧 Moderate watering • 🏙️ Very bushy 3-stem size
Native to the tropical forests of India and Southeast Asia, the Ficus benghalensis 'Audrey' is the botanical cousin of the famous Ficus elastica — but whereas the latter has smooth, shiny leaves, Audrey develops large, soft velvety light green oval leaves with prominent whitish veins. This 3-stem size creates a generous and bushy volume right from delivery, among the most beautiful large plants in our Ficus collection.
Which Ficus to choose?
Our catalog offers several large Ficus with very different foliage:
- Ficus benghalensis 'Audrey' — 3 stems (this plant) — large soft velvety light green oval leaves with white veins, very bushy 3-stem size (H105 cm | Pot Ø27 cm). The softest and most soothing version.
- Ficus benghalensis — compact size — same species, more accessible size to start with (H25 cm | Pot Ø12 cm). The entry-level version.
- Ficus benghalensis 'Joy' — variety with slightly different leaves from the same botanical group. The alternative version of Audrey.
- Ficus lyrata branched — large dark glossy green lyre-shaped leaves, architectural branched habit. The most sculptural version.
- Ficus elastica 'Robusta' — wide, thick, very shiny dark green leaves, upright habit. The most graphic and brightest version.
- Ficus benjamina 'Exotica' — small shiny lance-shaped leaves, airy dome-shaped habit (H120 cm | Pot Ø27 cm). The lightest and most airy version.
Light & location
- Light: bright indirect light to partial shade — good brightness encourages dense and vigorous foliage. Avoid direct sun which burns the velvety leaves.
- Ideal: spacious living room, bright entrance, office, or room corner near an East or North-facing window.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, without sudden changes or cold drafts.
- Substrate: rich, light, and well-drained — potting soil for green plants mixed with perlite.
Watering & care
- Watering: moderate — let the surface of the substrate dry slightly between waterings. In a large 27 cm pot, mastering watering is essential to avoid root rot — too much water is the main cause of decline.
- Drainage: essential — pot with drainage holes and well-drained substrate.
- Humidity: prefers a slightly humid atmosphere — occasionally mist the foliage.
- Fertilizer: every 3 weeks in spring and summer, diluted liquid fertilizer.
- Care: gently wipe the large velvety leaves with a damp cloth to preserve their texture and shine.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
- Corner centerpiece: placed in a living room corner with a graphic Calathea and a trailing Maranta at the base, it structures a jungle corner with three different heights and three very contrasting foliage textures.
- In an entrance: its bushy 3-stem size creates an immediate presence without stakes or support — place it facing the door to welcome visitors with generous greenery without obstructing traffic.
- Ideal pot: large natural Selin basket or decorative pot in jute — natural materials match the organic and velvety character of Audrey’s foliage.
Verdeia tips
- Choose its final location upon delivery: Ficus benghalensis tolerates moves better than Ficus benjamina, but any change of location causes partial leaf drop — the plant readapts within a few weeks without permanent damage.
- Repot every 2 to 3 years in spring: into a slightly larger pot with fresh substrate — mastering repotting is key to maintaining vigorous growth long-term.
- Rotate the pot every 2 weeks: Ficus orients its leaves toward the light — regular rotation ensures a balanced and even silhouette for the 3 stems, preventing one from dominating.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
