Frequently Asked Questions
What to do after a Tillandsia blooms? The plant blooms only once, then produces offsets called pups around its base — let them grow naturally, they will form an increasingly lush clump.
Can Tillandsias live in a bathroom? Yes — a well-lit bathroom is actually an ideal spot, as the natural ambient humidity reduces the frequency of misting needed.

Each is presented in a handcrafted kokodama ball made of coconut fiber — a natural, light, and airy decoration to hang or place freely. Tillandsia do not need soil: they absorb moisture and nutrients directly through their leaves.

Tillandsia hydrate differently from potted plants — two methods are possible depending on your routine.

Misting: mist 2 to 3 times a week with non-calcareous water — ideally rainwater or filtered water.

Soaking: soak for 10 to 15 minutes in a container of water, then gently shake and let dry upside down to avoid water stagnation at the core.

Fertilizer: very diluted (special for epiphytes) once a month in spring-summer.

Care: trim dry tips with clean scissors to keep a neat silhouette.

Increase misting frequency in summer and near heating in winter — Tillandsia indicate water shortage by slightly curling their leaves inward.

Always dry upside down after soaking — water that remains in the center of the rosette causes rapid and irreversible rot. After each soak, gently shake the plant and turn it upside down for a few minutes so the water drains completely before putting it back in place.

After flowering, let the offsets develop — a Tillandsia flowers only once in its life then produces offsets (called "pups") around its base. Do not remove these offsets — they will gradually form an increasingly lush clump.

Rotate the hangings every 2 weeks — Tillandsia naturally grow towards the light. Regular half-turns keep a uniform shape and prevent the plant from deforming in one direction.

Our Verdeia commitments
FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
