Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the leaves of my Tillandsia curling? Curling leaves indicate a lack of water. Soak the plant for 30 minutes in non-limescale water at room temperature — it will recover quickly. Then increase the spraying frequency to at least 3 times a week.
Can the Tillandsia bloom again after flowering? The mother plant does not bloom again, but it produces side pups after flowering. Let these pups grow to half the size of the mother plant before gently separating them. Each pup will bloom in its turn within 1 to 2 years.

🌸 Pink inflorescence • 🌿 Air plant without soil • ✨ Cylinder vase + gold base included • 📏 H38 cm | Vase Ø11 cm • 🎁 Ready to display • 🐾 Non-toxic
This Tillandsia arrangement is an epiphytic air plant presented in a glass cylinder vase with a golden base — natural moss and shell included. Its emerging pink inflorescence signals a delicate, long-lasting bloom. No soil, no repotting, no hassle.
The quintessential air plant, Tillandsia absorbs water and nutrients directly from the air and ambient humidity through its leaves. Its vase arrangement makes it a self-contained decorative object, ready to place on a shelf, desk, or console. Discover it in our Air Plants collection and our selection of ready-to-gift plants.
What’s included
- The plant: air Tillandsia with a pink inflorescence.
- The vase: transparent glass cylinder, matte golden base.
- The arrangement: natural moss at the bottom of the vase, decorative shell.
Everything is ready to display upon delivery — no assembly or repotting needed.
Which variety of Tillandsia should you choose?
Our catalog offers several sizes of air Tillandsia — from mini to XXL, alone or in arrangements. Here are the most distinctive profiles:
- Tillandsia cyanea in a cylinder vase (this plant) — ready-to-display arrangement with vase, golden base, moss, and shell. The most decorative and turnkey.
- Tillandsia King Xero — large air plant with silver leaves, without a base. The most imposing.
- Tillandsia Super Silver XL — XL air plant with striking silver foliage. The most sculptural.
- Tillandsia Air Mix — assortment of small air plants without a base. The free and customizable arrangement version.
The Tillandsia in a cylinder vase is the only presentation with a complete arrangement included — if you’re looking for a ready-to-display decorative item with nothing extra to buy, this is it.
Exposure & location
The Tillandsia is an air plant from tropical undergrowth — it prefers diffuse light and ambient humidity rather than direct sunlight.
- Ideal exposure: bright to moderate indirect light — near an east- or west-facing window.
- Avoid: direct sunlight that burns leaves and dries out the plant, very dark rooms without natural light.
- Humidity: prefers 50–70% humidity — a bright bathroom or kitchen are ideal locations.
- Temperature: 18–25 °C, without cold drafts.
- Note: the open cylinder vase allows good air circulation around the plant — do not close the opening.
A bright bathroom is the ideal spot — the natural humidity after showers replicates the tropical conditions Tillandsia needs without extra effort.
Watering & care
- Misting: generously mist the foliage 2 to 3 times a week with non-calcareous water — this is the Tillandsia’s main hydration method.
- Monthly soak: once a month, take the Tillandsia out of the vase and soak it for 30 minutes in non-calcareous water at room temperature, then let it air dry before putting it back.
- Water: filtered or rainwater is essential — hard water clogs leaf stomata and hinders absorption.
- Drying: after each misting or soak, make sure the center of the rosette does not hold stagnant water — turn the plant over for a few minutes if needed.
- Fertilizer: a few drops of liquid bromeliad fertilizer diluted in the misting water, once a month in spring and summer.
The Tillandsia has no functional roots for absorption — all its hydration comes through its leaves. Regular misting is more important than any other care.
Decor ideas & combinations
The arrangement in a cylinder vase with golden base makes the Tillandsia cyanea a decorative object in its own right — not just a plant in a pot.
- Alone on a shelf or console: the cylinder vase and golden base create a minimalist and elegant showcase effect. It needs nothing around it to stand out.
- In an arrangement: pair it with other plants in a vase or jar from our jars and vases collection to create a cohesive plant gallery.
- As a gift: ready to display, no repotting or accessories needed, it makes an original plant gift. Find our ideas in our selection of plants ready to give.
Its emerging pink inflorescence will continue to develop after delivery — you will see the gradual blooming of purple flowers in the following weeks.
Verdeia advice
- Calcium buildup is its number one enemy — Tillandsia’s leaf stomata quickly clog with tap water calcium. Always use filtered or rainwater, including for misting.
- The center must never stay wet — stagnant water in the rosette’s center causes rot within days. After each misting or soak, turn the plant to drain excess water.
- Air circulation is essential — don’t place the vase in a corner without airflow. Tillandsia needs to dry between mistings to stay healthy.
- After flowering, don’t discard the plant — once the inflorescence fades, gently remove it. The plant will produce side shoots (pups) that will grow and can be separated to expand your collection.
- Rehydrate if the leaves curl — curling leaves indicate a lack of water. Soak for 30 minutes in non-calcareous water and the plant will recover quickly.
- 🐾 Non-toxic — Tillandsia is safe for dogs and cats.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
