Frequently Asked Questions
How do you propagate a Syngonium Pixie? Take a stem cutting with at least one node, place it in a glass of water on a bright windowsill — roots will appear in 1 to 2 weeks.
Why are the cream veins on my Syngonium Pixie turning green? Lack of light is the main cause — move it closer to a window with indirect light and new leaves will regain their well-contrasted cream veins.

🌿 Soft green heart-shaped foliage veined with cream • 🌤️ Bright indoors / Partial shade • 💧 Moderate watering • 🌱 Easy care • 📏 H20 cm | Pot Ø12 cm
The Syngonium Pixie, also known as the Miniature Arrowhead Plant, is a compact variety native to Central America, with soft green heart-shaped foliage veined with cream - graphic, fresh, and particularly well suited to small spaces. Unlike climbing Syngoniums, the Pixie variety stays dense and bushy without ever becoming invasive. A reliable choice among easy-care plants.
It propagates very easily - a simple stem segment in water is enough to produce a new plant within a few weeks. Propagation from cuttings is easiest in spring.
Light & placement
Syngonium Pixie thrives in bright environments without direct sun - in bright light, the cream tones of the foliage intensify, while in partial shade they become slightly greener.
- Light: bright indoors to partial shade - avoid direct sun.
- Ideal for: shelves, windowsills, desks, living rooms, and small spaces.
- Temperature: 18 to 26 °C, away from cold drafts.
- Substrate: light, well-draining soil rich in organic matter.
Watering & care
- Watering: moderate - let the top layer of the substrate dry out between waterings. Use room-temperature, low-limescale water. Its water and humidity needs are similar to those of plants in a tropical setting.
- Humidity: appreciates light misting of the foliage, especially in winter when the heating is on.
- Fertilizer: every 3 to 4 weeks in spring and summer, using liquid fertilizer for green plants.
- Foliage: wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to preserve their natural shine.
- Repotting: infrequent - every 2 to 3 years in spring.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
Its miniature size and delicate foliage make it an ideal filler plant - it fills the spaces between larger plants and adds a layer of fine texture.
- In a mini arrangement: pair it with a trailing Pilea depressa and a pink-and-green Tradescantia Sweetness - three compact plants, three different textures, the same pot size, and a cohesive arrangement on a shelf.
- As a Syngonium duo: pair it with Syngonium White Butterfly, whose leaves are lighter and almost white - the same species, two complementary colours, and a harmonious duo within the same genus.
- Decorative pot: beige ceramic, matte stoneware, or light terracotta highlight the green and cream shades of the foliage.
Verdeia tips
- More light = more cream: place it in a bright spot without direct sun - the cream veins in the foliage are more intense and contrasting in good light, and gradually become greener in partial shade.
- Rotate the pot regularly: monthly rotation ensures even development of all the leaves - otherwise, the stems lean towards the light source and the plant loses its bushy shape.
- Propagation is easy: take a stem segment with at least one node and place it in a glass of water - roots will appear within 1 to 2 weeks.
