Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the stems of my Euphorbia trigona leaning? Lack of light is the main cause — move it closer to a very bright window and rotate the pot a quarter turn every 2 to 3 weeks to ensure vertical and symmetrical growth.
Is the sap of Euphorbia trigona dangerous? Yes — its milky sap is irritating to skin and mucous membranes, always wear gloves when repotting or if a stem breaks accidentally.

☀️ Bright interior / Soft sunlight • 🌵 Sculptural candelabra silhouette • 💧 Low watering • 🪴 Easy care • 📏 H70 cm | Decorative pot Ø17 cm
Euphorbia trigona, also called the Candelabra tree, is a succulent native to Central Africa with an architectural look — upright ribbed stems, pronounced ribs, and slightly reddish young shoots that highlight its sculptural form. Despite its cactus-like appearance, it is a euphorbia. Discover our cactus and succulents collection.
This green version differs from its cousin the Euphorbia trigona Rubra with purple stems — same silhouette, two complementary colors for visually striking combinations.
Exposure & Location
Euphorbia trigona needs maximum light — this is essential to keep its compact, upright form. In insufficient light, the stems become elongated and lean.
- Exposure: very bright to sunny interior — soft sunlight accepted, avoid direct summer sun behind glass.
- Ideal for: living room, veranda, office near an east or southeast-facing window.
- Temperature: 16 to 28 °C — avoid below 12 °C and cold drafts.
- Substrate: very well-draining — cactus mix, sand, and perlite blend.
Watering & Care
- Watering: low — let the substrate dry deeply between waterings. Our finger test is especially suitable for this plant.
- Drainage: essential — always empty the saucer after watering.
- Fertilizer: once a month in spring and summer, diluted cactus fertilizer — no feeding in winter.
- Pruning: unnecessary — remove damaged segments with gloves if needed.
- Repotting: every 2 to 3 years into a slightly larger pot with drainage holes.
Decor Ideas & Plant Combinations
Its totemic silhouette instantly transforms a bright corner into an architectural focal point — it stands out on its own without additional arrangement.
- Contrasting duo: pair it with the Euphorbia trigona Rubra with purple stems — same silhouette, two opposite colors, an immediately effective and coherent composition.
- Desert trio: combine it with a Sansevieria Laurentii and a Zamioculcas — three low-watering plants, three distinct vertical forms, zero maintenance hassle.
- Decorative pot: a terracotta, beige stoneware, or matte ceramic pot allows the substrate to breathe and highlights the plant’s sculptural character.
Verdeia Tips
- Wear gloves when handling: its milky sap irritates skin and mucous membranes — protect yourself when repotting or if a stem breaks accidentally.
- Rotate the pot regularly: a quarter turn every 2 to 3 weeks ensures straight, symmetrical growth — otherwise, stems gradually lean toward the light.
- Choose a heavy, stable pot: at 70 cm tall, the center of gravity is high — a heavy terracotta or stoneware pot prevents tipping, especially if you take it outside in summer.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
