Frequently Asked Questions
How to grow Epipremnum 'HiColor' on a support stake? Insert a moss stake into the pot and guide the stems with clips or raffia — the kept-moist moss encourages aerial roots to cling to it and promotes the development of larger leaves over time.
Can Epipremnum 'HiColor' grow in water? Yes, like all Pothos, it roots and grows easily in a vase of water with indirect light — change the water every 7 to 10 days and add a few drops of diluted liquid fertilizer every 3 to 4 weeks.

🌿 Bright yellow marbling on deep green • ☀️ Bright indirect light • 💧 Moderate watering • 🌱 Very easy
Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, Epipremnum pinnatum 'HiColor' is a selection with particularly saturated foliage — its bright green heart-shaped leaves are marbled with irregular bright yellow-green spots and streaks, more vivid and contrasting than the classic Golden Pothos. Like all Epipremnum, it naturally climbs trees in the canopy and can be grown on a support or allowed to trail freely among our indoor climbing and trailing plants and our easy-care plants.
Which Pothos variety to choose?
The Epipremnum genus includes several varieties with very different foliage — here’s how 'HiColor' compares among them:
- Epipremnum pinnatum 'HiColor' (this plant) — bright green leaves marbled with intense, irregular yellow-green, climbing or trailing habit (H20 cm | Pot Ø12 cm). The version with the brightest and most saturated marbling.
- Epipremnum aureum — Golden Pothos — bright green leaves marbled with creamy yellow, generous habit, 5 sizes. The classic and most generous version.
- Epipremnum 'Marble Queen' — leaves variegated with creamy white and green marbled areas. The brightest and most contrasting version.
- Epipremnum aureum 'N'Joy' — leaves variegated with dark green and creamy white in well-defined areas. The most graphic bicolor version.
- Epipremnum pinnatum 'Cebu Blue' — lance-shaped silvery blue-green leaves, climbing or trailing habit. The rarest and most original version.
Light & location
- Light: bright indirect to bright partial shade — the brighter the light, the more intense and saturated the yellow-green spots. In shade, the foliage tends to become a more uniform, ordinary green.
- Ideal: bright living room, office, high shelf, or hanging near an East or West-facing window.
- Temperature: 18 to 27 °C (64 to 81 °F), without sudden changes.
- Substrate: light, airy, and well-drained — potting soil for green plants mixed with perlite.
Watering & care
- Watering: moderate — allow the top 2 to 3 cm of substrate to dry out between waterings. Tolerant of missed waterings, Epipremnum 'HiColor' is one of the most forgiving plants when it comes to watering indoor plants.
- Frequency: about once a week in spring and summer, reduced in winter.
- Drainage: essential — pot with drainage holes and a saucer.
- Humidity: adapts to dry to medium humidity — tolerates dry air well.
- Fertilizer: every 2 to 3 weeks in spring and summer, diluted liquid fertilizer.
- Support: stake on a moss pole to encourage climbing growth and larger leaves.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
- Color contrast: pair it with an Epipremnum 'N'Joy' with creamy white and a Scindapsus pictus 'Trebie' in silver — the intense yellow-green of 'HiColor' contrasts effectively with the white and silver of the other two varieties for a very bright composition.
- On a support: trained on a moss pole, its leaves grow larger and the yellow-green marbling becomes more generous — pair it with a Monstera Deliciosa to play with two very different large green foliage types.
- Ideal pot: matte black or anthracite ceramic to highlight the intensity of the green and yellow-green — dark tones enhance foliage saturation better than light tones.
Verdeia tips
- Keep bright light to preserve marbling intensity: this is the main condition for the yellow-green to stay saturated and bright — in shade, new leaves gradually grow in a more uniform green.
- Propagate easily: cut a stem with at least one node and place it in a glass of water — propagating plants by cuttings is especially simple with this species, which roots in 1 to 2 weeks.
- Clean leaves regularly: dust dulls the foliage’s shine and reduces the visual intensity of the yellow-green marbling — wiping with a damp cloth every 3 to 4 weeks is enough.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.

Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
