Scindapsus (Epipremnum) — Pothos
🌿 Lush heart-shaped foliage • ☀️ Bright indirect to partial shade light • 💧 Moderate watering • 🌬️ Air-purifying • 🌟 Easy climbing/trailing plant
Scindapsus, also known as Pothos or Epipremnum, is a must-have tropical climbing plant, renowned for its lush foliage and exceptional ease of care. This generous plant features bright green heart-shaped leaves that create a spectacular cascading effect in your urban jungle.
Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, Scindapsus is a natural climbing plant that clings to trees in its original habitat. Indoors, it can climb a support (moss pole) or trail down in a cascade, depending on your choice. Its flexible stems and shiny leaves bring a generous and soothing touch of greenery. This mature and spectacular climbing plant is perfect for beginners and plant lovers looking for a lush, easy-care, and purifying plant in their urban jungle.
Exposure & Location
Scindapsus is a very tolerant plant that adapts to different light conditions, making it ideal for all interiors. It particularly enjoys bright indirect light but perfectly tolerates partial shade.
- Exposure: bright indirect to partial shade light, avoid harsh direct sun.
- Ideal: living room, office, bright bathroom, high shelf, or hanging near an east or west-facing window.
- Temperature: 18 to 27 °C, without sudden changes.
- Substrate: light, airy, and well-drained (green plant potting soil + perlite).
Verdeia tip: Scindapsus tolerates less bright areas, but growth will be faster and foliage denser with bright indirect light.
Watering & Care
- Watering: moderate; let the top 2-3 cm of substrate dry out between waterings.
- Frequency: about once a week in spring-summer, reduce in winter.
- Drainage: essential — use a pot with drainage holes and a saucer.
- Humidity: prefers 50-60% humidity, tolerates dry air.
- Fertilizer: every 2-3 weeks in spring-summer with diluted liquid fertilizer.
- Winter rest: reduce watering and fertilizing in autumn-winter.
- Support: stake on a moss pole to encourage climbing growth and large leaves, or let it trail down in a cascade.
Gently clean the leaves with a damp cloth to preserve their shine and optimize photosynthesis.
Decor Ideas & Plant Combinations
With its lush foliage and generous trailing stems, Scindapsus instantly becomes a spectacular centerpiece that creates immediate visual impact in any space.
- Pair with: Monstera, Philodendron, other Pothos (Golden, Marble Queen), Ferns or Calathea to create a lush and varied urban jungle.
- Ideal pot: decorative pot in matte ceramic (white, terracotta, gray) or macramé hanger to highlight the trailing foliage.
- Ambiance: perfect hanging near a window, on a high shelf, staked on a moss pole, or featured in a living room corner to create a green wall.
Stake it on a moss pole to encourage spectacular large leaves, or let it trail down in a cascade for a soft and airy effect.
Verdeia Tips
- Very tolerant and easy to care for — perfect for beginners.
- Avoid direct sun that burns delicate leaves.
- Stake on a moss pole to encourage large leaves and vertical growth.
- Regularly mist if using a moss pole to keep it moist.
- Repot every 1-2 years in spring into a slightly larger pot.
- Very easy to propagate — cut a stem with a node and place it in water.
- Air-purifying plant — naturally cleans indoor air (formaldehyde, benzene, xylene).
- Warning: slightly toxic if ingested — keep out of reach of children and pets.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
