Rhipsalis Burchellii — Mistletoe Cactus — Ø12 cm — H20 cm
🌿 Graphic trailing stems • ☀️ Partial shade to low light • 💧 Low watering • 🌬️ Easy epiphytic cactus • 🌟 Unique trailing plant
Rhipsalis Burchellii, also known as Mistletoe Cactus, is a spectacular trailing epiphytic cactus, recognized for its thin cylindrical stems that create an airy and graphic cascading plant effect. This fascinating plant features trailing green stems that can reach several tens of centimeters, creating a delicate and minimalist plant curtain.
Native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, especially Brazil, Rhipsalis is an epiphytic cactus that naturally grows on tree branches in its original habitat. Unlike desert cacti, it has no spines and enjoys the shade and humidity of tropical forests. Its delicate trailing stems give it a graceful and elegant appearance, perfect for hanging. With its current height of 20 cm and pot diameter of 12 cm, it becomes a unique and graphic trailing epiphytic cactus in your urban jungle, ideal for plant lovers seeking an easy-care trailing plant, shade tolerant, and minimalist in style.
Exposure & Location
Rhipsalis Burchellii perfectly tolerates low-light spaces, unlike most cacti. It appreciates partial shade and can even thrive in shade.
- Exposure: Partial shade to low light, avoid direct sunlight.
- Ideal: hanging in a living room, bathroom, office, high shelf, or north-facing windowsill.
- Temperature: 15 to 25 °C, without sudden changes.
- Substrate: light and well-drained, special for epiphytic cacti (potting soil + bark + perlite).
Verdeia tip: unlike desert cacti, Rhipsalis appreciates the humidity and shade of tropical forests.
Watering & Care
- Watering: low to moderate; allow the substrate to dry slightly between waterings.
- Frequency: about once every 8-10 days in spring-summer, reduce in winter.
- Drainage: essential — use a pot with drainage holes and well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: appreciates 50-60% humidity, mist occasionally.
- Fertilizer: every 2-3 months in spring-summer with a liquid fertilizer diluted by half.
- Winter rest: greatly reduce watering in autumn-winter.
- Pruning: remove dead or browned stems at the base.
Water less often in winter — Rhipsalis enters dormancy and needs very little water.
Decor Ideas & Plant Combinations
With its delicate and graphic trailing stems, Rhipsalis Burchellii instantly becomes a minimalist and airy piece. Its stems create an elegant cascading plant effect that draws attention.
- To combine with: other Rhipsalis, Hoya, Ceropegia, Senecio, or trailing plants to create an airy and graphic collection.
- Ideal pot: macramé hanger, matte ceramic decorative pot (white, gray, terracotta), or small hanging pot to highlight the trailing stems.
- Ambiance: perfect hanging near a window, on a high shelf, or as a feature in a minimalist and graphic plant collection.
Hang it to fully enjoy the cascading effect of its delicate trailing stems.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
