The Fatsia Japonica Spider Web, also called Variegated Japanese Aralia, is a graphic plant with large deeply lobed palmate leaves, dark green splashed with silver like a spider web. Its spectacular and bright foliage allows it to dress low-lit spaces with a strong and contemporary plant presence.
Native to Japan and South Korea, where it grows in moist undergrowth and coastal areas, it stands out within the Fatsia collection for its unique silver variegation — more graphic and luminous than the Variegata version. Its tolerance to cool temperatures also makes it one of the few plants suitable for dark entrances and hallways able to withstand winter cold, alongside our selection of cold-resistant plants.

- Fatsia Japonica Spider Web (this plant) — large dark green palmate leaves with irregular silver splashes, H50 cm. The most graphic and brightest.
- Fatsia Japonica Variegata — large palmate leaves with cream edges and areas, H60 cm. The most classic cream-variegated.
The Spider Web is the only variety to offer this effect of irregular silver spots on a dark green background — a unique visual texture that the Variegata, with its more regular cream edges, does not replicate.

The Fatsia Japonica Spider Web is one of the few large variegated plants that tolerates partial shade without losing its silver shine. Its splashes remain visible even in low-light spaces — a valuable advantage for challenging interiors. It is also one of the few indoor plants to thrive well through winter in cool rooms.
