Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the leaves of my Spathiphyllum drooping? The Spathiphyllum drops its leaves when it lacks water — water immediately and the leaves will straighten within a few hours, but avoid repeating this water stress as it weakens the plant in the long term.
Why are the edges of my Spathiphyllum leaves turning brown? Browning edges are almost always caused by hard water or air that is too dry — use filtered or rainwater and increase ambient humidity by regular misting or a humidifier.

🌿 Shiny dark green foliage • 🌸 White spathe flowers • ☀️ Partial shade • 💧 Regular watering • 🏙️ Large structural plant
Native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, the Spathiphyllum 'Sweet Sebastiano' naturally grows in moist, shaded understories — making it one of the few large flowering plants able to thrive in partial shade. Its long, slender white spathe flowers, held above shiny dark green foliage, have earned it the nickname "moonflower." At 110 cm tall, it is a striking centerpiece among our large indoor plants and partial shade plants.
Which Spathiphyllum variety to choose?
Our catalog offers several Spathiphyllum varieties in different sizes:
- Spathiphyllum 'Sweet Sebastiano' (this plant) — large imposing size, dense shiny dark green foliage, slender white spathe flowers (H110 cm | Pot Ø24 cm). The most structural and spectacular version.
- Spathiphyllum 'Sweet Silvana' — medium size, same elegant silhouette (H80 cm | Pot Ø24 cm). The more accessible large size version.
- Spathiphyllum 'Bellini' — large XXL size (H100 cm | Pot Ø24 cm). The most voluminous version.
- Spathiphyllum 'Vivaldi' — compact medium size (H70 cm | Pot Ø17 cm). The most accessible version for an apartment.
- Spathiphyllum 'Bingo Cupido' — small compact size, generous flowering (Pot Ø12 cm). The most compact and floriferous version.
Light & location
- Light: partial shade to bright shade — tolerates low light spaces better than most large flowering plants, but bright indirect light encourages more abundant flowering.
- Ideal: living room, bedroom, bright bathroom, or office away from windows — see our tips for finding the right light-humidity balance.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, without sudden changes or drafts.
- Substrate: rich, light, and well-drained — potting soil for green plants mixed with perlite.
Watering & care
- Watering: regular — keep the substrate slightly moist without ever soaking it. The Spathiphyllum clearly signals water shortage by drooping its leaves — they quickly straighten up after watering.
- Water: prefer filtered or rainwater — hard water gradually browns leaf edges.
- Drainage: essential — pot with drainage holes, no standing water in the saucer.
- Humidity: prefers 60–70% humidity — mist the foliage regularly.
- Fertilizer: every 2 to 3 weeks in spring-summer, diluted liquid fertilizer.
- Care: remove faded flowers at the base to encourage new blooms.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
- Corner centerpiece: placed in a living room or entryway corner, its slender form and white flowers create elegant verticality — pair it with a Calathea on the floor for a very effective contrast of heights and textures.
- White floral arrangement: pair it with a white Anthurium — two plants with pure white, two spathes of different shapes, for a very refined indoor floral composition with year-round blooming.
- Ideal pot: a white Brussels pot extends the elegance of the white flowers with a chromatic echo, or a natural Selin basket for a warmer, more organic atmosphere.
Verdeia tips
- Never let the leaves droop completely: the Spathiphyllum drops its leaves when it lacks water — this is a signal not to ignore, as repeated water stress weakens the plant and reduces flowering in the long term.
- Remove faded flowers right at the stem base: a spathe that greens and dries out must be cut at the base — this action triggers the production of a new flower stem.
- Use filtered or rainwater: lime deposits gradually build up on roots and brown leaf edges — a water filter or collected rainwater is enough to avoid this problem long term.

How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
