Frequently Asked Questions
Why are the leaves of my Spathiphyllum 'Bellini' drooping? The Spathiphyllum drops its leaves when it lacks water — water it immediately and the leaves will straighten within a few hours, but avoid letting this water stress happen too often.
How do you divide a Spathiphyllum 'Bellini' when repotting? Remove the root ball from the pot, identify the distinct rosettes with their own roots, and gently separate them by hand or with a clean knife — repot each rosette separately in fresh, well-draining soil.

🌿 Shiny dark green foliage • 🌸 Long-lasting white flowers • ☀️ Partial shade to shade • 💧 Moderate watering • 🏙️ Large structural plant
Native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, the Spathiphyllum 'Bellini' naturally grows in shaded understories — making it one of the few large flowering plants able to thrive in shade or partial shade. Its slender white spathes regularly emerge above shiny dark green foliage and remain decorative for several weeks. At 100 cm, it is a major structural plant among our large indoor plants and our plants for shade and partial shade.
Which Spathiphyllum variety to choose?
Our catalog offers several Spathiphyllum varieties in different sizes — the choice mainly depends on the size of the available space:
- Spathiphyllum 'Bellini' (this plant) — large imposing size, dense foliage, and generous flowering (H100 cm | Pot Ø24 cm). The ideal version for large living rooms and spacious entrances.
- Spathiphyllum 'Sweet Sebastiano' — the largest size in the collection (H110 cm | Pot Ø24 cm). The most majestic version.
- Spathiphyllum 'Sweet Silvana' — medium size (H80 cm | Pot Ø24 cm). The version for medium-sized living rooms.
- Spathiphyllum 'Vivaldi' — compact size (H70 cm | Pot Ø17 cm). The most accessible version for an apartment.
- Spathiphyllum 'Torelli' — compact size with dense foliage (H65 cm | Pot Ø17 cm). The ideal version for small spaces and offices.
- Spathiphyllum 'Bingo Cupido' — small very floriferous size (Pot Ø12 cm). The most compact version.
Light & location
- Light: partial shade to shade — one of the few large plants to flower without much light. However, bright indirect light encourages more abundant flowering.
- Ideal for: living room, bedroom, office, bathroom, entrance — even in low-light rooms away from windows.
- Temperature: 18 to 27 °C, without sudden changes or drafts.
- Substrate: light, airy, and well-drained — potting soil for green plants mixed with perlite.
Watering & care
- Watering: moderate — let the top 2 to 3 cm of substrate dry out between waterings. The Spathiphyllum clearly signals water shortage by drooping its leaves — they quickly straighten after watering. Mastering watering is especially important to avoid root rot in a large pot. Use filtered or rainwater to prevent leaf edge yellowing caused by lime.
- Frequency: about 1 to 2 times per week in spring-summer, reduced in winter.
- Drainage: essential — pot with drainage holes and saucer.
- Humidity: prefers 50–60% humidity — mist leaves regularly.
- Fertilizer: every 2 to 3 weeks in spring-summer, diluted liquid fertilizer.
- Care: remove faded flowers and dead leaves at the base.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
- In a living room corner: its slender form and white flowers create a calming verticality in a corner — pair it with a Calathea on the floor to vary heights and textures in a tropical atmosphere composition.
- In a low-light entrance: it is one of the few large plants able to maintain elegant white flowering in a windowless entrance — pair it with a Zamioculcas with shiny green foliage for a simple and resilient arrangement.
- Ideal pot: a white Brussels for a color echo with the white flowers, or a natural Selin basket for a warmer atmosphere.
Verdeia tips
- Do not let the leaves droop repeatedly: the Spathiphyllum tolerates occasional neglect and recovers quickly, but repeated water stress weakens the plant and permanently reduces flowering — water at the first signs of wilting.
- Remove faded flowers as soon as they turn green: a spathe that gradually discolors should be cut at the base of its stem — this action triggers the production of a new flower stem and maintains continuous flowering.
- Divide the clump when repotting every 2 years: the Spathiphyllum naturally forms several rosettes — separate them when repotting in spring to multiply the plant for free and keep an airy silhouette.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
