- The cream parts are more fragile — the cream areas of the leaves lack chlorophyll and are therefore unable to photosynthesize. They are more sensitive to direct sun, excessive heat, and low humidity. Protect your plant from direct sun and mist it regularly.
- Slower growth than the classic Monstera deliciosa — the significant proportion of non-photosynthetic tissue (cream) slows growth compared with a fully green Monstera. This is normal — expect 2 to 4 new leaves per year under optimal conditions.
