Coffea Arabica + Jade ceramic pot — Ø12 cm — H20 cm
☕ Indoor coffee plant • 🌸 Scented white flowers • 🏺 Delivered in decorative pot • ☀️ Bright indirect light • 💧 Moderate watering
The Coffea Arabica, or Arabian coffee plant, is a fascinating and original indoor plant, known for its shiny, dark green, wavy foliage, but especially for its small, star-shaped, delightfully fragrant white flowers that fill the space with a soft jasmine scent. It’s the plant that produces the coffee beans we consume daily! After flowering, it develops pretty red berries that contain the precious coffee beans.
Originating from Ethiopia, this coffee plant is a tropical species that can bloom indoors with proper care. Its white flowers usually appear after 3-4 years of cultivation, creating an enchanting olfactory and visual display. The berries turn from green to bright red when ripe, adding a spectacular splash of color. Delivered in an elegant jade ceramic decorative pot, it’s ready to gift or place directly in your home. With its compact height of 20 cm and shiny foliage, it becomes a unique conversation piece in your urban jungle, perfect for dressing up a desk, shelf, or table with elegance and originality.
Exposure & placement
The Coffea Arabica likes bright indirect light to develop dense, shiny foliage and especially to encourage flowering. Avoid direct sunlight which can burn its delicate leaves.
- Exposure: bright indirect light, no direct sunlight.
- Ideal: near a window with a sheer curtain, bright desk, well-lit shelf.
- Temperature: 18 to 24 °C, avoid cold drafts.
- Substrate: light, well-drained, and slightly acidic (potting soil for indoor plants + perlite).
Verdeia tip: the coffee plant appreciates a humid atmosphere to encourage flowering. Place it in a room with natural humidity or lightly mist its leaves. Delivered in its decorative pot, ready to use.
Watering & care
- Watering: moderate; keep the substrate slightly moist but never soggy.
- Drainage: the decorative pot is designed for optimal drainage.
- Humidity: prefers high humidity (60-70%), mist regularly to promote flowering.
- Fertilizer: every 4 weeks in spring-summer, with diluted liquid fertilizer for green plants.
- Pruning: pinch the tips to encourage bushy growth.
Let the substrate surface dry slightly between waterings. Empty excess water from the saucer 15 minutes after watering to prevent root rot.
Flowering & fruiting
One of the great attractions of Coffea Arabica is its ability to produce beautiful fragrant white flowers indoors, followed by decorative red berries.
- Flowers: small delicately scented white stars (jasmine scent), usually appear after 3-4 years of cultivation.
- Flowering period: spring-summer, can last several weeks.
- Berries: after flowering, green berries appear and ripen to bright red (contain 2 coffee beans).
- Flowering conditions: bright light, high humidity, stable temperature, regular fertilizing.
Patience! Flowering can take 3-4 years, but the wait is worth it. The fragrant flowers and red berries create a fascinating display that intrigues all your guests.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
With its shiny dark green foliage, fragrant white flowers, and decorative jade pot, the Coffea Arabica brings a touch of natural elegance and originality to your urban jungle. It’s a conversation plant that intrigues and fascinates.
- Pair with: other tropical plants (Ficus, Philodendron, Calathea), aromatic plants (basil, mint) to create a "world kitchen" corner.
- Atmosphere: perfect for an office, kitchen, bright shelf, or reading nook.
- Style: contemporary, bohemian, natural, or eclectic.
Place it in a well-visible spot to enjoy its shiny foliage, fragrant flowers, and share the fascinating story of coffee with your guests. Ready to gift or install directly!
