Frequently asked questions
Can you plant directly in a decorative pot without a drainage hole? No — without drainage, water stagnates at the bottom and quickly causes root rot; always slip the perforated growing pot into the decorative pot.
How to care for a decorative pot with a brushed metal finish? Wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth every 2 to 3 weeks — avoid abrasive or acidic products that permanently damage the brushed finish.

The Mayk Lead decorative pot stands out with its brushed metallic anthracite black finish, featuring a subtle iridescent effect, and its flared conical shape with clean lines. Made from a lightweight and durable composite material, it combines modern style and practicality - a striking decorative piece that enhances plants with dense or graphic foliage.
Pair it with the other elegant decorative pots. The choice of pot depends on each plant's size and needs.
Use & placement
The Mayk Lead Ø20 cm decorative pot is designed to hold a standard Ø17 to 19 cm nursery pot - an ideal size for medium-sized plants.
- Use: indoors or in a sheltered outdoor area.
- Compatibility: Ø17 to 19 cm nursery pot - houseplants, succulents, ferns or small decorative shrubs.
- Ideal placement: living room, entrance, office or covered balcony.
- Style: urban industrial, contemporary, loft.
Its anthracite black shade creates a strong contrast with green foliage - the denser and lighter the foliage, the more striking the effect.
Materials & care
- Material: lightweight composite with a brushed metallic finish.
- Resistance: suitable for moderate indoor and outdoor temperature variations.
- Care: simple cleaning with a soft damp cloth - avoid abrasive products, which may damage the brushed finish.
- Weight: lightweight and easy to move, even with the plant inside.
- Precaution: avoid prolonged exposure to rain or frost to preserve the metallic finish.
Decorating ideas & pairings
Its brushed anthracite black shade and sleek conical silhouette make it a sculptural decorative pot that attracts as much attention as the plant it holds.
- Ideal plants: pair it with a Monstera deliciosa, a Zamioculcas or a Ficus benghalensis Joy - dense green foliage stands out with striking contrast against the brushed anthracite black.
- As a combination: pair it with the gold version of the Mayk for a duo of decorative pots with contrasting metallic finishes - black and gold, with a highly contemporary effect.
- Atmosphere: industrial loft, contemporary office, minimalist interior or covered urban terrace.
Verdeia tips
- Never plant directly in the decorative pot - this decorative pot is designed to hold a standard nursery pot with drainage. Planting directly without a perforated pot deprives the plant of drainage and quickly causes root rot. Add a layer of clay pebbles at the bottom to keep the nursery pot slightly raised.
- Raise the nursery pot slightly - place a layer of clay pebbles at the bottom of the decorative pot before inserting the nursery pot. This prevents the pot from sitting in the water and keeps the roots dry between waterings.
- Wipe the surface regularly - wiping the brushed finish with a slightly damp soft cloth every 2 to 3 weeks is enough to maintain its metallic sheen and prevent limescale deposits from dulling the surface.

Our Verdeia commitments
FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Orders ship within 48 working hours, with tracked delivery in 2 to 5 working days via DPD. Shipping costs and the free-shipping threshold depend on your country — see our delivery page. You receive a tracking link as soon as your parcel leaves.
What should I do when my plant arrives?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What should I do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
