🌿 Set of 10 air plants • 🌱 No soil or pot • 💧 Regular misting • ✨ Endless DIY possibilities • 🐾 Non-toxic
The Tillandsia Air mix is a set of 10 epiphytic air plants native to the tropical forests and deserts of Central and South America, where they naturally grow attached to trees and rocks without ever touching the ground. These plants absorb water and nutrients directly through their leaves — no soil, no pot, no hassle. Each set contains a mix of varieties including Ionantha, Argentea, Gardneri, and Oaxacana — all about Ø6 cm.
Non-toxic, low maintenance, and with 10 plants you have enough to create several arrangements at once. Discover it in our collection of original plants and in our selection for terrariums.
Which set to choose?
The Tillandsia Air mix is available in several formats depending on your project:
- Set of 5 — discovery format to start or create a first arrangement.
- Set of 10 (this product) — ideal intermediate format to create several varied arrangements or give to multiple people.
- Set of 20 — XXL format for large installations, events, or ambitious decor projects.
- Tillandsia King Xero — unique large plant H23 cm, with spectacular silver leaves. The statement piece.
- Tillandsia Cyanea — spectacular pink flowering variety H38 cm, long-lasting bloom.
- Tillandsia set on LED base — 2 plants on a lighted base, ready to display.
- Kokodama Tillandsia mix — 8 Tillandsia on kokodama bases, ready to hang.
Why choose the set of 10? It’s the format that offers the best balance between variety and budget — enough plants to create several different arrangements, experiment with different bases, and give some away.
Exposure & placement
Tillandsia enjoy bright indirect light and good air circulation — two essential conditions. A bright bathroom is their ideal spot: natural humidity reduces the need for misting. Our light and humidity guide details how to optimize these two parameters.
- Exposure: bright indirect light — avoid direct sun in summer.
- Ideal: near a window, hanging, on a shelf, or in an open terrarium.
- Temperature: 15 to 25 °C — tolerates moderate variations.
- Support: no substrate — place on shells, pebbles, driftwood, or hang with transparent thread.
- Air circulation: essential — avoid confined spaces without ventilation.
Watering & maintenance
Watering Tillandsia is radically different from other plants — they are watered through their leaves. The most important point: always dry them upside down after each watering — stagnant water in the center causes rot.
- Misting: 2 to 3 times per week with rainwater or filtered water — lime clogs the trichomes.
- Bath: once every 2 weeks, soak for 20 to 30 minutes in room temperature water.
- Drying: gently shake and let dry upside down in a ventilated place — this is the most important step.
- Summer: increase to 3 to 4 mistings per week when it’s hot.
- Fertilizer: optional — once a month in spring-summer with very diluted orchid fertilizer (1/4 dose).
Leaves curling = thirsty. Tips browning = air too dry. Two simple signals to adjust your care.
Decor ideas & DIY creations
With 10 Tillandsia, you have enough to carry out several creative projects simultaneously — hangings, terrariums, plant frames, compositions on driftwood.
- Hanging air plants: hang at different heights with transparent fishing line to create an airy hanging garden.
- Open terrarium: arrange in an open glass jar with pebbles, sand, and driftwood for a miniature dry garden.
- On driftwood: attach with non-toxic silicone glue on branches or bark for a natural effect.
- Creative gifts: give individually with a shell or pebble as a base — 10 plants, 10 original gifts to personalize.
- Wall plant frame: attach to mesh or wooden frame to create a living plant picture to hang.
To fix without damage, naturally wedge in a wood crack or shell is always better than glue — plants remain easier to remove for water baths.
Verdeia tips
- Always dry them after soaking — turn them upside down for 1 to 2 hours after each soak to drain water from the rosette’s center. This is the most important step to prevent rot, the only real danger for these plants.
- Use only rain or filtered water — lime and chlorine in tap water clog the trichomes, the tiny hairs that allow leaves to absorb water. With tap water, plants gradually weaken for no apparent reason.
- Some varieties may bloom — Ionantha turns bright red just before blooming. Flowering happens once in the mother plant’s life, but it produces offsets that continue the colony. Detach them when they reach one-third the size of the mother.
- The set contains a surprise selection — exact varieties vary depending on availability. Each set guarantees 10 healthy and different plants, selected from Ionantha, Argentea, Gardneri, and Oaxacana.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
