Frequently Asked Questions
Can Tillandsia be used to decorate a wedding? Yes, it’s one of their most popular uses — lightweight, soil-free, pot-free, they adapt to all supports and can be tucked into bouquets, wreaths, centerpieces, or guest gifts. They last several days without watering, which simplifies event logistics.
How to attach an air plant to a support without gluing it? The simplest method is to naturally wedge it into a crack in wood, the opening of a shell, or between pebbles. It holds without any fastening. If you want a permanent installation, use non-toxic silicone — avoid regular glue which burns the trichomes.

🌿 Set of 20 air plants • 🌱 No soil or pot • 💧 Regular misting • ✨ Great for DIY projects and events • 🐾 Non-toxic
The Tillandsia Air mix is a set of 20 epiphytic air plants native to the tropical forests and deserts of Central and South America. No soil, no pot, no hassle — they absorb water and nutrients directly through their leaves. Each set contains a mix of varieties including Ionantha, Argentea, Gardneri, and Oaxacana, all about Ø6 cm.
Non-toxic, 20 plants to create multiple installations, event decorations, or DIY workshops. Discover in our collection of original plants and in our selection for terrariums.
Which set to choose?
The Tillandsia Air mix is available in several formats depending on your project:
- Set of 5 — discovery format to start or create a first arrangement.
- Set of 10 — intermediate format ideal for several arrangements or multiple gifts.
- Set of 20 (this product) — XXL format for large installations, events, DIY workshops, or resale. The best unit price.
- Tillandsia King Xero — large unique plant H23 cm, with spectacular silver leaves. The statement piece.
- Tillandsia Cyanea — spectacular pink flowering variety H38 cm.
- Tillandsia set on LED support — 2 plants on a lighted stand, ready to display.
- Kokodama Tillandsia mix — 8 Tillandsia on kokodama supports, ready to hang.
Why choose the set of 20? It's the format for ambitious projects — events, weddings, creative workshops, artistic installations, or simply to build a collection of varied arrangements. The unit price is the most advantageous of the three sets.
Exposure & location
Tillandsia enjoy bright indirect light and good air circulation — two essential conditions. Our light and humidity guide details how to optimize these two parameters.
- Exposure: bright indirect light — avoid direct sun in summer.
- Ideal: near a window, hanging, on a shelf, or in an open terrarium.
- Temperature: 15 to 25 °C — tolerates moderate variations.
- Support: no substrate — place on shells, pebbles, driftwood, or hang with transparent thread.
- Air circulation: essential — avoid confined spaces without ventilation.
Watering & care
Tillandsia absorb water through their leaves. Most important point: always dry them upside down after each watering — stagnant water in the center causes rot.
- Misting: 2 to 3 times per week with rainwater or filtered water.
- Bath: once every 2 weeks, soak for 20 to 30 minutes in room temperature water.
- Drying: gently shake and let dry upside down in a ventilated place.
- Summer: increase to 3 to 4 mistings per week.
- Fertilizer: optional — once a month in spring-summer with very diluted orchid fertilizer (1/4 dose).
Curling leaves = thirst. Browning tips = air too dry. Two simple signals to adjust your care.
Decor ideas & DIY creations
With 20 Tillandsia, you can run several large-scale projects simultaneously — hanging installations, event decorations, creative workshops, bulk gifts.
- Events & weddings: centerpieces, hanging decorations, guest gifts — 20 plants easily cover a small event.
- DIY workshops: organize creative workshops to learn how to arrange air plants — each participant leaves with their creation.
- Spectacular hanging installation: hang at different heights with transparent fishing line to create a floating aerial garden.
- Living wall: attach to a wire mesh or wooden frame to create a large living plant display.
- Gifts in bulk: give individually with a shell or personalized support — 20 plants, 20 original gifts.
To attach without damage, naturally wedge in a crack or shell rather than using glue — plants remain easier to remove for water baths.
Verdeia tips
- Always dry them after soaking — turn them upside down for 1 to 2 hours after each soak to drain water from the rosette’s center. This is the most important step to prevent rot, the only real danger for these plants.
- Use only rainwater or filtered water — lime and chlorine in tap water clog the trichomes that allow leaves to absorb water. With tap water, plants gradually weaken for no apparent reason.
- Store unused plants properly — with 20 Tillandsia, you might not use all plants immediately. Keep them in a bright, airy place, mist regularly, and avoid airtight plastic bags that cause rot.
- Some varieties may bloom — Ionantha turns bright red just before blooming. Flowering happens once in the mother plant’s life, but it produces offsets at its base. Detach them when they reach one-third the size of the mother.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
