Kokodama Birdnest Tillandsia Mix — Set of 8 air plants (Ø7 cm • ↕5 cm)
🌿 Air plants • ☀️ Bright indoors / Sheltered outdoors • 💧 Low watering (spraying) • 🪴 Kokodama coconut fiber • 🌱 Easy care
The Kokodama Birdnest Tillandsia Mix brings together 8 air plants (soil-free) with fine, textured leaves, sometimes tinted pink or purple when flowering. Each is presented in a handmade kokodama ball made of coconut fiber, for a natural, light, and durable decoration.
Perfect for creating a bohemian & urban jungle atmosphere, these tillandsias easily hang in front of a window or cluster together to compose a poetic plant cloud.
Exposure & location
Tillandsia enjoy bright indirect light. They thrive indoors in bright areas or outdoors sheltered from direct sun and wind.
- Exposure: indirect light / bright partial shade.
- Ideal: hanging near a window, bright bathroom, airy living room.
- Temperature: 15–28 °C; avoid cold below 10 °C.
- Humidity: slightly humid atmosphere appreciated.
Verdeia tip: vary hanging heights for a graphic and airy cloud effect.
Watering & care
- Hydration: spray 2 to 3 times a week with non-calcareous water or soak 10–15 min, then drain well.
- Drying: gently shake and let dry upside down to avoid water stagnation.
- Fertilizer: very diluted (special epiphytes) once a month in spring-summer.
- Maintenance: remove dry tips with clean scissors to keep a neat silhouette.
Tillandsias do not need soil: they absorb moisture and nutrients through their leaves.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
The mix of fine textures and soft hues creates a soothing atmosphere, perfect for small urban spaces.
- To combine with: Asplenium, Chlorophytum, Fittonia or Rhipsalis for an airy jungle look.
- Supports: wall rods, stands, floating shelves, bright window sills.
- Ambiance: bohemian, natural minimalist, well-lit bathroom.
Create a “plant mobile” by aligning 3 to 5 kokodamas to enliven a hallway or reading nook.
Verdeia tips
- Use rainwater or filtered water to avoid lime stains on leaves.
- Increase spraying in summer or near heating in winter.
- Avoid direct full sun which can burn fine tips.

- After flowering, let offsets develop to naturally thicken the clump.
