🌵 Rosette of thin, elongated leaves • ☀️ Direct sunlight • 💧 Monthly watering • 🌱 Ultra easy • 🐾 Non-toxic
A horticultural hybrid selection from the Aloe genus, native to South Africa, the Aloe 'Spider' stands out with its rosette of thin, elongated, slightly curved leaves that resemble spider legs — hence its name. Its bright green fleshy leaves with finely serrated edges form a sculpted silhouette with great formal precision. Discover our full Aloe collection and our cacti and succulents.
Extremely water-efficient and very drought-resistant, it is a graphic plant with almost no maintenance — exactly the profile of the 10 easy-care plants for city dwellers.
Which Aloe variety to choose?
Three Aloe varieties are available in our catalog, from the most compact to the most imposing:
- Aloe 'Spider' (this plant) — rosette of thin, elongated bright green leaves with serrated edges, star-shaped sculptural form (H15 cm | Pot Ø10.5 cm). The version with the thinnest and most graphic leaves.
- Aloe paradisicum — geometric rosette in green-gray with fine teeth, compact and very regular form (H15 cm | Pot Ø10.5 cm). The most symmetrical and architectural version.
- Aloe vera — pale green fleshy leaves with healing gel, upright generous form. The utilitarian and iconic version.
Light & location
The Aloe 'Spider' is one of the most sun-dependent succulents in the catalog — the brighter the exposure, the denser, more compact, and better colored the rosette remains. In shade, the leaves stretch and lose their characteristic shape, because finding the right balance between light and humidity is crucial for this species.
- Exposure: direct sunlight for several hours a day or intense bright light.
- Ideal: sunny south-facing windowsill, bright veranda, balcony or terrace in warm seasons.
- Temperature: 15 to 30 °C — tolerates heat but is sensitive to frost.
- Substrate: very well-draining — special cactus and succulent mix (cactus soil, perlite, sand).
Watering & care
Its fleshy leaves store water for several weeks — letting the substrate dry completely before watering is the only rule to remember, and the complete indoor plant watering guide will help you find the right rhythm. In winter, monthly watering is more than enough.
- Watering: very low — let the substrate dry completely between waterings.
- Frequency: every 3 to 4 weeks in spring-summer, once a month or less in winter.
- Drainage: essential — pot with drainage holes and very well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: perfectly tolerates dry air — no misting needed.
- Fertilizer: once a month in spring-summer, diluted liquid fertilizer for succulents.
- Winter rest: greatly reduce watering in autumn-winter to respect its natural dormancy.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
- Windowsill trio: pair the Aloe 'Spider' with an Aloe paradisicum and a Hylocereus undatus — three radically different silhouettes (star-shaped thin leaves, geometric rosette, triangular stems) on the same sunny windowsill.
- Ready-to-place duo: our Aloe Spider & Hylocereus duo is already composed — an easy way to add this succulent without any styling effort.
- Ideal pot: natural terracotta or Lago cream pot — warm and neutral tones perfectly complement the bright green and serrated edges of the rosette.
- Outdoors in summer: place it on a sunny balcony or terrace — summer heat and direct sun intensify the green shades and sometimes reddish edges of the leaves.
Verdeia tips
- Place it in the sunniest spot in your home: a dense, compact rosette with slightly reddish edges is a sign of optimal exposure — long, pale leaves indicate a lack of light.
- Never water if the substrate is still moist: root rot is irreversible in Aloes — when in doubt, wait another week.
- Carefully remove dry leaves at the base: this keeps the rosette clean and airy and prevents stagnant moisture spots at the plant’s core — handle with care, the serrated edges are slightly sharp.

FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
