The cyclamen appreciates soft and cool light, sheltered from direct sunlight. It can be grown both in bright interiors and sheltered outdoors, where it offers a brilliant flowering during autumn and winter.
- Exposure: partial shade or indirect light.
- Ideal: windowsill, balcony or cool and bright room.
- Temperature: prefers coolness, around 10–18 °C.
- Substrate: rich and well-drained, slightly moist but never waterlogged.
Verdeia tip: indoors, place your cyclamen away from heat sources to prolong its flowering.
Watering & care
- Watering: moderate; keep the soil slightly moist without wetting the center of the plant.
- Method: prefers watering from the bottom of the pot to avoid excess moisture on the leaves.
- Flowering: from autumn to spring depending on conditions.
- Care: remove faded flowers and leaves at the base to encourage new growth.
- Rest: after flowering, let the bulb rest in a cool and dry place.
Avoid overwatering: cyclamen prefers a slightly moist substrate rather than waterlogged.
