Verdeia tips
  • Upon receipt, take the plant out of its box and allow it 24 to 48 hours to acclimate in a bright place without direct sunlight.
  • Check the soil moisture before watering; add a little water only if the surface is dry.
  • Avoid heat sources and drafts, and keep a slightly humid atmosphere to preserve the beauty of the foliage.
  • Wait 2 to 3 weeks before any repotting, allowing the plant time to stabilize.
  • Gently wipe the leaves to remove dust and observe them: slight stress during the first few days is completely normal.

Asplenium nidus ‘Parvati’ – Tropical Indoor Fern

    🌿 Tropical • 💚 Easy to care for • 🏙️ Urban jungle • 🐾 Non-toxic • ✨ Soothing

Asplenium ‘Parvati’, also called bird's nest fern, is a tropical indoor plant emblematic of freshness and serenity. Native to Asia, it stands out with its wavy fronds of shiny green forming a dense and harmonious rosette, evoking the heart of a tropical forest.

Elegant, purifying, and undemanding, this fern is perfect for gently greening urban spaces. Its glossy foliage captures natural light, bringing a touch of soothing and refined nature to any modern interior.

    Exposure & Placement

Asplenium ‘Parvati’ prefers soft and slightly humid environments where light is filtered. It is a plant that easily adapts to apartment life, even away from windows, as long as the air is not too dry.

    • Soft light to partial shade, no direct sunlight.
    • Ideal for bright bathrooms, bedrooms, or dim living rooms.
    • Ideal temperature: between 18 and 25 °C.
    • Avoid cold drafts and direct heat sources (radiators, lamps).

Verdeia Tip: place your fern near other tropical plants to create a beneficial humid microclimate for its foliage and growth.

    Watering & Care

Easy to live with, Asplenium ‘Parvati’ likes constant humidity but hates excess water. Its care relies on regularity and moderation.

    • Water 1 to 2 times a week, as soon as the soil surface starts to dry.
    • Keep the soil slightly moist, without stagnant water in the saucer.
    • In winter, space out watering while maintaining sufficient ambient humidity.
    • Regularly mist the fronds to preserve their shine and prevent them from drying out at the tips.
    • Avoid pouring water directly into the heart of the rosette to prevent rot.

Asplenium is a robust and tolerant plant, capable of regenerating quickly if the environment remains stable and humid.

    Verdeia Advice

    • Substrate: light and draining mix (universal potting soil + perlite or fine bark).
    • Drainage: place a layer of clay pebbles at the bottom of the pot to avoid water stagnation.
    • Repotting: about every 2 years, in spring, to renew nutrients.
    • Misting: daily if possible, especially in dry interiors.
    • Maintenance: remove damaged fronds at the base to encourage regrowth.

For a more pronounced jungle effect, group it with Calatheas or Marantas: their shared humidity keeps your Asplenium in great shape.

    Decor Ideas & Pairings

With its rosette foliage and satin sheen, Asplenium ‘Parvati’ pairs wonderfully with natural materials. It is a soothing plant, perfect for creating a zen and harmonious atmosphere in urban interiors.

    • In a matte ceramic, rattan, or terracotta planter cover for an organic and authentic style.
    • On a low piece of furniture, a console, or a shelf to highlight its airy silhouette.
    • Pair it with a Calathea warscewiczii for a soft and velvety tropical ambiance.
    • With a Zamioculcas zamiifolia or a Spathiphyllum for a harmonious texture contrast.
    • Ideal in a bathroom, bedroom, or relaxing reading nook.
