Epipremnum ‘Marble Queen’ – Variegated Scindapsus
🎨 Variegated foliage • 🌬️ Air purifying • 💚 Easy care • 🏙️ Urban jungle • 🪴 Climbing or trailing
The Epipremnum ‘Marble Queen’, also called Variegated Scindapsus or Marbled Pothos, is an elegant and bright tropical indoor plant. Its heart-shaped foliage, marbled with green and cream, captures light and instantly transforms your space into a natural and soothing cocoon.
Native to Southeast Asia, this climbing or trailing vine is known for its resilience and ease of care. It perfectly embodies the modern urban jungle: a balance between graphic nature and contemporary design.
Exposure & location
- Indirect light to partial shade: avoid direct sun which burns its light leaves.
- Ideal hanging or on a high shelf to let its foliage trail down.
- Ideal temperature: 18–26 °C, protected from cold drafts.
- Tolerates dry and low-light interiors well.
Verdeia tip: the more diffuse and stable the light, the more the white variegation will stand out on the foliage.
Watering & care
- Moderate watering: about once a week, letting the soil surface dry between waterings.
- Use non-calcareous water and avoid water stagnation in the saucer.
- Regularly mist the leaves to maintain good ambient humidity.
- Liquid fertilizer every 3–4 weeks in spring and summer.
- Lightly prune stems to encourage density and control growth.
Verdeia advice
- Location: place it near an east or north window for soft and consistent light.
- Substrate: prefer a light and draining mix (potting soil + perlite + coconut fiber).
- Repotting: every 18 to 24 months to renew the substrate and support growth.
- Cleaning: wipe leaves with a soft cloth to revive their marbled shine.
- Support: provide a moss or bamboo stake to guide it as a climbing plant.
Decor ideas & combinations
- Beautiful hanging naturally for a tropical cascade effect.
- Pair it with a Philodendron scandens or a Scindapsus argyraeus for an elegant contrast.
- Perfect in a bright bathroom or modern living room for a calming touch.
- Light or textured pot to enhance the foliage variegation.
