Anthurium Calon — Ø12 cm — H36 cm
🌸 Bright red flowers • 🌿 Shiny foliage • 💧 Moderate watering • ☀️ Bright interior / Partial shade
The Anthurium Calon is a spectacular tropical plant, prized for its heart-shaped red flowers and deep green glossy foliage. Native to the humid forests of Central and South America, it instantly adds an exotic and refined touch to modern interiors.
Easy to care for and elegant, this plant is ideal for brightening a living room, office, or entryway. Besides its decorative appearance, it helps purify the air and create a serene and calming atmosphere.
Exposure & location
The Anthurium Calon thrives in a bright environment but sheltered from direct sunlight, which could burn its foliage. It prefers clear, temperate, and slightly humid rooms.
- Exposure: bright light to partial shade.
- Ideal: bright room, without direct sunlight.
- Temperature: between 18 °C and 26 °C, protected from cold drafts.
- Substrate: rich, airy, and well-draining.
Verdeia tip: place your anthurium near an east or north-facing window, in the soft morning light.
Watering & maintenance
- Watering: about once a week; let the soil dry slightly between waterings.
- Humidity: prefers a humid atmosphere, especially in summer. Regularly mist the foliage.
- Fertilizer: every 4 to 6 weeks, from spring to autumn, with fertilizer for flowering plants.
- Cleaning: gently wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to maintain their shine.
- Repotting: every 2 years into a slightly larger pot, with an airy mix for epiphytes.
Avoid stagnant water in the saucer: Anthurium does not like its roots to be constantly wet.
Decor ideas & plant pairings
The Anthurium Calon attracts all eyes with its bright flowers and refined tropical look. It is a standout piece that fits well with both modern interiors and more natural decor.
- To pair with: Zamioculcas, Calathea or Spathiphyllum for a calming tropical corner.
