Frequently Asked Questions
Can rosemary on stem be used in cooking? Yes, it is the same plant as classic culinary rosemary. Regularly pick the stems from the crown — this stimulates growth and intensifies the aroma. The more you harvest, the more vigorous the plant becomes.
Is rosemary frost-resistant? Yes, it is hardy down to -10°C and can stay outside all year in most regions. Stagnant moisture in winter is much more dangerous than the cold — ensure excellent drainage.

🌿 Evergreen aromatic foliage • 🎋 Elegant stem form • 💜 Honey-producing blue-violet flowers • ☀️ Full sun • 💧 Moderate watering • 🐾 Non-toxic and edible
Rosmarinus officinalis, or Rosemary on stem, is a perennial aromatic plant native to the Mediterranean basin. This stem version features a slender woody trunk topped with a dense, compact crown of gray-green needle-like aromatic leaves — a structured and elegant shape that offers as much decorative character as aromatic generosity. H45 cm | Pot Ø14 cm.
Hardy, drought-resistant, non-toxic, and edible. Discover it in our Mediterranean urban garden selection.
Exposure & Location
- Ideal exposure: full sun — at least 6 hours per day.
- Ideal: south or southwest-facing balcony, sunny terrace, urban vegetable garden.
- Hardiness: down to -10 °C — can stay outdoors year-round in most regions.
- Substrate: light, draining, and poor — Mediterranean potting soil with sand or perlite.
- Avoid: stagnant moisture is its only real risk.
The more sun it receives, the more aromatic its foliage and abundant its flowering. Check our spring preparation guide for the right seasonal care.
Watering & Care
- Watering: moderate — allow the substrate to dry between waterings.
- Frequency: 1 to 2 times per week in summer, greatly reduced in winter.
- Drainage: essential — pot with drainage holes and very draining substrate.
- Fertilizer: Mediterranean or aromatic plant fertilizer, once a month in spring-summer. Avoid excess — overly rich soil favors foliage over aroma.
- Pruning: light pruning after flowering to maintain a compact crown and encourage branching.
- Harvest: regularly pick the stems — this stimulates growth and intensifies aroma.
Regular harvesting is the best care — each stem picked stimulates two new shoots. See our maintenance calendar for the right actions by season.
Decor Ideas & Plant Combinations
Its structured stem form creates an elegant focal point — decorative as an ornamental plant, useful as an aromatic plant.
- Solo in a pot: in a terracotta or clay pot on a sunny balcony, it creates an immediate Mediterranean accent — elegant and fragrant.
- In an aromatic garden: pair it with a Lavender Hidcote Blue for a classic and highly honey-producing aromatic duo — same exposure, same watering, complementary scents.
- In combination: combine it with an Olive tree for a complete Mediterranean composition on a terrace. Find more ideas in our sunny balcony plant selection.
The stem form adds height and verticality to a plant grouping — place it at the back or center of a group of low plants for a naturally structured effect.
Verdeia Tips
- Excellent drainage is essential — rosemary hates stagnant moisture. Add a layer of gravel or clay balls at the bottom of the pot and use a very draining substrate.
- Prune after flowering — light pruning in June-July keeps the crown compact and dense. Never prune into old woody wood — rosemary does not regrow well from dead wood.
- Leave it outside in winter — hardy down to -10 °C, it does not need protection in most regions. See our winter plant guide to prepare it well.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
