The bohemian style is an interior where plants are not just placed — they inhabit the space. They cascade from a shelf, hang from the ceiling in kokodama, overflow from a woven basket placed directly on the floor. The boho aesthetic blends natural materials, organic textures, and a confident accumulation of greenery. No staged setups: a lively, joyful disorder that breathes.
Trailing plants: the backbone of the boho look
A bohemian vibe without trailing plants is impossible. The Ceropegia woodii (string of hearts) with its fine vines dotted with small silver heart-shaped leaves is the most delicate. The Pothos (Epipremnum Golden, Marble Queen, N'Joy) cascades generously from any support. The Philodendron scandens and Philodendron micans (with velvety bronze leaves) add depth. Hanging and trailing plants are the heart of a boho interior — three to five varieties at different heights create a natural green curtain.
Kokodama: the ultimate boho hanging plant
Kokodama are plants rooted in a moss ball suspended by a cord — the ultimate boho object. No pot, no decorative pot, just a green moss sphere floating in space. The Kokodama Monstera Minima with its cut leaves, the Kokodama Maranta with its painted foliage, and the Kokodama Pilea with its round leaves each bring a different texture. Grouped in threes or fours at varying heights near a window, they create a living plant mobile.
Natural baskets and woven fiber
The black plastic pot is the enemy of the boho style. Our plants in natural baskets arrive directly in their decorative container: the Monstera deliciosa in a natural basket or palm leaf basket, the Nephrolepis in a woven basket, the Dracaena marginata in a woven basket, the Pachira in a natural basket. The Panier Selin sold separately and the Decorative pot jute Celestial complement plants delivered in standard pots. Raw materials (jute, wicker, rattan) are the signature of natural fiber and rattan interiors.
Ferns and Asparagus: the wild touch
Asparagus (ornamental asparagus) are the wildest plants in the catalog. Asparagus Sprengeri cascades with soft, tender green feathery stems. Asparagus Setaceus unfolds fine, lace-like foliage. Asparagus Cwebe and Asparagus Meyers have a bushier, sculptural form. The Nephrolepis (Boston fern) with its trailing fronds completes this family of soft, organic textures — placed on a wooden stool or hung in macramé, it alone defines a bohemian atmosphere.
Tillandsia: the art of pot-free plants
Tillandsia (air plants) grow without soil and without a pot — placed on a piece of driftwood, hung on a metal ring, or simply set on a shelf among books and candles. The Set of 5 Tillandsia, Set of 10, or Set of 20 allow for spontaneous compositions that change with your mood. No traditional watering: a 20-minute soak once a week in the water is enough.
Large statement plants: Monstera, Strelitzia, Ficus
A boho interior needs at least one large plant to anchor the decor to the floor. The Monstera deliciosa in a natural basket is the most iconic choice — its fenestrated leaves have become a symbol of tropical bohemian style. The Strelitzia nicolai with its large banana-like leaves adds verticality. The Ficus lyrata ramified with its sculptural violin-shaped leaves and the Ficus benghalensis Joy with its velvety foliage complete the picture. Decorative foliage is the central element of a boho room — the more varied the textures, the better the effect.
Creating a bohemian interior: the principle of accumulation
The boho style is based on layering plant layers at different heights. On the ceiling: 2-3 kokodama or macramé plants. Up high: trailing plants on shelves (Pothos, Ceropegia, Tradescantia). Mid-height: ferns and Asparagus on stools, small tables, or baskets placed on furniture. On the floor: a large plant in a natural basket. The indoor jungle is the culmination of this approach — when every corner of the room houses a plant, the entire space becomes alive. Plant combinations for a tropical vibe help choose the most harmonious foliage and texture pairings.
