Frequently Asked Questions
Is Aloe Spider different from Aloe vera? Yes — Aloe Spider is a hybrid variety with thinner, longer, and more serrated leaves than Aloe vera, with a more graphic and spreading shape that gives it its spider plant name.
Can you grow a dragon fruit cactus indoors? Yes — Hylocereus undatus adapts well to pot cultivation indoors as long as it gets plenty of direct light, ideally on a south-facing windowsill.

🌵 Aloe Spider + Hylocereus undatus • 🎨 Contrasting graphic sculptural duo • 🌞 Full sun • 💧 Low to moderate watering • 🌿 Indoors & sheltered outdoors • 📏 H15 cm | Pot Ø10.5 cm
The Aloe Spider & Hylocereus undatus Duo brings together two fascinating succulents with radically different silhouettes. The Aloe Spider captivates with its elongated, serrated leaves in a slightly bluish green. The Hylocereus undatus, or dragon fruit cactus, features broad, flat, ribbed stems capable of producing spectacular, fragrant white flowers in summer - a graphic sculptural duo with minimal upkeep.
Pair it with cacti and succulents and indoor succulents.
Light & placement
Both plants appreciate abundant light - the more sun they receive, the more pronounced their shapes and colours become.
- Light: full sun or very bright light - a sunny windowsill or balcony.
- Ideal: south-facing window, sheltered terrace or balcony.
- Temperature: 18 to 30 °C - bring them indoors as soon as temperatures fall below 10 °C.
Place both plants side by side in a single wide decorative pot to create a balanced graphic effect - their contrasting silhouettes enhance each other.
Watering & care
The two plants have slightly different needs - the Aloe prefers drier conditions, while the Hylocereus prefers slightly more moisture in summer. The right watering routine depends on the substrate drying out.
- Aloe Spider: low watering - let the substrate dry out completely between waterings.
- Hylocereus undatus: moderate watering in summer, very infrequent in winter.
- Substrate: essential - cactus mix (soil + sand + perlite).
- Fertiliser: once a month in spring and summer with fertiliser for succulents.
Never let water stand in the saucer - slight water stress can even intensify the colours of both plants.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
The contrast between the Aloe's rigid lines and the Hylocereus's fleshy, flat stems creates a natural sculptural composition - two radically different plant architectures that complement each other perfectly.
- Pairing idea: enrich the composition with a Crassula tenelli or an Aloe paradisicum for a collection of graphic succulents with varied silhouettes.
- Also discover: the Aloe Spider on its own and the Hylocereus undatus on its own if you would like to place them in two different spaces.
- Ideal decorative pot: matt ceramic, terracotta or light concrete - natural materials complement the duo's graphic, minimalist aesthetic.
Verdeia tips
- Move the Hylocereus outdoors in summer to encourage flowering - the dragon fruit cactus flowers mainly in response to strong light and a wide day/night temperature range. Placing it outdoors in summer in light shade or soft direct light is the best way to encourage its spectacular nocturnal flowering.
- Clean the Aloe leaves regularly - use a slightly damp soft cloth on the Aloe Spider's leaves every 2 to 3 weeks to remove dust that accumulates in the serrations and dulls the foliage's characteristic bluish-green colour.
- Acclimatise them gradually to direct outdoor sun - if you move them outdoors in summer, expose them for a few hours a day at first before giving them full exposure, to prevent burns on foliage accustomed to indoor conditions.

How are my plants prepared before shipping?

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
