Frequently Asked Questions
Can the wooden base get wet when changing the water? No — simply remove the jar from its base before changing the water, rinse the jar separately, then place it back on the base once filled. The electronic base should never come into contact with water.
Is the LED beneficial for the plant or just decorative? The LED lighting in this base is mainly decorative — it lights from below and does not reproduce the light spectrum needed for photosynthesis. The plant needs bright indirect natural light to grow properly, regardless of the LED.

🌿 Hydroponic Clusia • 💡 Wooden base with integrated LED • 💧 Visible illuminated roots • ☀️ Indirect light • 🎁 Ready to give • 📏 H10 cm | Jar Ø5 cm
The Clusia en bocal Samoa avec LED is a miniature hydroponic plant presented in a spherical jar with a narrow neck, set on a **natural wooden base with integrated LED lighting**. Clusia rosea, also known as the autograph tree, is a tropical plant native to the tropical regions of Central and South America. The LED illuminates the base from below, lighting up the golden roots visible through the glass - a soft and fascinating glow, particularly spectacular in the evening.
No soil, easy care, refined presentation. A lovely idea among plant gifts and unusual plants.
Which hydroponic Clusia format should you choose?
Clusia is available in several glass container formats, each with a distinct aesthetic:
- Clusia en bocal Samoa avec LED (this product) — spherical jar on a wooden LED base, H10 cm | Jar Ø5 cm. The brightest and most stylish version.
- Clusia Samoa jar without LED — the same spherical jar without an illuminated base. The refined classic version.
- Clusia Victoria jar on a black metal stand — sphere on an arched black metal stand, H10 cm | Jar Ø5 cm. The sculptural version.
- Clusia glass tube with LED — cylindrical tube with LED integrated into the tube, H10 cm | Tube Ø5 cm. The sleek illuminated version.
- Clusia glass tube without LED — cylindrical tube with cork stopper, H15 cm | Tube Ø5 cm. The sleek minimalist version.
- Clusia cylindrical jar — open cylindrical jar, H30 cm | Jar Ø12 cm. The imposing version.
Why choose the LED version? The wooden base with LED turns the golden roots into a true light show - placed on a desk or bedside table, it works both as a decorative night-light and a living plant. This is the most giftable format in the range.
Light & placement
The Clusia Samoa LED jar thrives in bright indirect light - avoid direct sun, which overheats the water and encourages algae growth. LED lighting does not replace natural light for the plant.
- Exposure: bright indirect light - avoid direct sun.
- Ideal: desk, bedside table, shelf, bright bathroom, or bedroom.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, without sudden changes.
The lighting effect is particularly spectacular in the evening in a dimly lit room - the LED illuminates the golden roots from within, creating a unique plant-inspired atmosphere.
Watering & care
The same principle applies as with all open hydroponic jars - maintain a constant water level and refresh it regularly.
- Water level: cover the roots without completely submerging the stem.
- Water change: change the water every 2 to 3 weeks using room-temperature water.
- Water type: filtered water, rainwater, or tap water left to stand for 24 hours.
- Fertilizer: add a few drops of highly diluted liquid fertilizer when changing the water, once a month.
- Cleaning: rinse the jar each time you change the water to prevent algae.
Remove the jar from its base when changing the water - the LED base is separate from the jar and must not get wet.
Decor ideas & pairings
The combination of a spherical jar and LED wood base creates a unique luminous plant decor piece - neither a classic plant nor a simple night-light, but both at once.
- On its own: place it alone on a bedside table or desk - its natural wood base and soft light create a calming plant presence without taking up space.
- As a set: pair it with our hydroponic trio on LED stands for a luminous plant arrangement with varied designs.
- As a gift: this is one of the most original plant gifts in our catalogue - the wooden LED base immediately sets it apart from all classic plants.
Verdeia tips
- The LED shines from below - the wooden base incorporates lighting that illuminates the jar and roots from underneath. For the best effect, turn on the LED in a dimly lit room in the evening - the golden roots become a fascinating luminous botanical display.
- Remove the jar to replace the water - the LED base and the jar are two separate elements. Simply remove the jar from its base to empty, rinse, and refill the water, then put it back. The base must never get wet.
- The roots naturally turn brown - this is normal as long as the leaves remain vigorous. Under the LED, the roots take on particularly decorative golden and amber highlights - a unique visual effect that other formats cannot reproduce.
- Non-toxic - Clusia poses no risk to cats, dogs, or children.

Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
