Aglaomorpha coronans, or epiphytic fern with rhizomes, is a tropical fern native to the humid forests of Southeast Asia. Its deeply cut, bright green fronds and golden-brown hairy rhizomes that creep across the surface of the substrate make it doubly decorative — sculptural foliage above, fascinating organic texture below. - Never cover the rhizomes — they must remain visible on the surface of the substrate. They are storage and respiratory organs — burying them causes them to rot.
- High humidity is essential — mist regularly or place a humidifier nearby. Air that is too dry causes brown, brittle fronds.
- Repot every 2-3 years — in a light substrate for epiphytes with bark. Make sure the rhizomes remain on the surface after repotting. Repotting in spring is sufficient, in a pot that is only slightly larger.
