Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a glass tube with and without LED? The LED version includes lighting that allows it to be placed even in a room without natural light. The non-LED version is slightly taller (H15 cm vs. H10 cm) and is better suited for locations with sufficient natural light — its slender shape is also cleaner.
Can you give a plant in a glass tube as a gift for a special occasion? Yes — it’s one of the most accessible and long-lasting plant gifts. Its minimalist design suits all decor styles, its almost no-maintenance care reassures less experienced people, and its neat presentation requires no extra packaging.

🌿 Mini tropical plant in airtight tube • 🔒 Cork stopper • 🎁 Ready to gift • 💧 Minimal care • ✨ Minimalist design • 📏 H15 cm | Tube Ø5 cm
The Clusia in glass tube is a mini tropical plant presented in an elegant cylindrical glass tube sealed with a cork stopper. The Clusia rosea, also called Autograph tree, is a tropical plant native to the Caribbean and South America, known for its shiny fleshy green leaves and great resilience. Its roots rest directly in a water base visible through the glass — a minimalist and clean decorative effect, halfway between a design object and a living plant.
The cork stopper creates a self-sustaining humid microclimate that naturally regulates moisture. Almost no maintenance, slender design. Discover it in our plant gift selection and in our collection of original plants.
Which Clusia tube version should you choose?
Clusia is available in several tube and jar sizes, with or without LED lighting:
- Clusia in glass tube (this product) — airtight tube with cork stopper, H15 cm | Tube Ø5 cm. The classic slender version.
- Clusia in glass tube with LED — same tube with built-in lighting, H10 cm | Tube Ø5 cm. The luminous version.
- Clusia in glass tube M — large size H30 cm | Tube Ø12 cm, more developed plant. The imposing version.
- Clusia glass tube with cork stopper and heart pendant — same tube with decorative pendant. The romantic gift version.
- Clusia jar Samoa + LED — rounded jar with LED, H10 cm | Jar Ø5 cm. The same spirit, rounded and luminous shape.
- Clusia Victoria jar — vintage jar, H10 cm | Jar Ø5 cm. Elegant retro style.
- Set of 3 glass tubes — trio of Clusia in tubes for a ready-made composition.
Why choose this tube without LED? Its slender format (H15 cm) is slightly larger than the LED version — it gives the plant more room to grow and suits spaces with enough natural light better.
Exposure & location
The Clusia in a tube enjoys bright indirect light — the glass amplifies heat, so absolutely avoid direct sunlight which can burn the plant in a few hours.
- Light exposure: bright indirect light to partial shade — avoid direct sunlight.
- Ideal for: office, shelf, bedside table, or bright bathroom.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, without sudden changes.
Unlike the LED version, this tube requires sufficient natural light to keep the plant healthy — place it near a window without direct exposure.
Watering & care
The cork stopper creates a humid microclimate in a semi-closed circuit: moisture evaporates, condenses on the walls, and falls back into the water at the bottom. It’s one of the easiest products to maintain in our catalog.
- Watering: very light — a few drops if the bottom of the tube feels very dry.
- Frequency: about once every 2 to 3 months.
- Never do this: overwater — excess water is the only real danger.
- Ventilation: briefly remove the stopper once a month to refresh the air.
- Cleaning: wipe the outside of the glass with a soft cloth.
A slight condensation on the inner walls is normal — it’s a sign that the humidity cycle is working. If the walls are heavily fogged, remove the stopper for a few minutes.
Decor ideas & combinations
Its slender profile and natural cork stopper make it a decorative plant object in its own right — perfect for a bookshelf, desk, or bedside table.
- Composition: combine several tubes to create a harmonious vertical plant line — our set of 3 tubes is perfect for starting a collection.
- In combination: alternate bright and classic versions on the same shelf for a varied collection effect.
- As a gift: its clean design and almost no maintenance make it a universal plant gift. Discover our full plant gift selection.
Verdeia advice
- The cork stopper is functional, not just decorative — it regulates air exchange and maintains the humid microclimate inside the tube. Do not replace it with an airtight plastic stopper that would completely block the gas exchanges necessary for the plant.
- A few drops every 2 to 3 months — check the bottom of the tube: if it is completely dry, add a few drops of water. Otherwise, do nothing. The tube’s semi-closed cycle manages humidity almost autonomously.
- Remove the stopper once a month — even if everything seems perfect, a few minutes of monthly air renewal keeps the ecosystem healthy and prevents the buildup of unwanted gases inside the tube.
- Ideal as a minimalist gift — its clean design suits both plant lovers and those drawn to decorative objects. No demanding care, no risk of underwatering, neat presentation upon delivery.

How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
