Frequently Asked Questions
Why do Pothos stems grow long without leaves? A lack of light causes stretching — the stems elongate to reach the light, so move the plant closer to a natural light source.
Can you propagate a Pothos? Yes, cut a stem just below a node and place it in a glass of water — roots will appear in 2 to 3 weeks, and the cutting can then be potted in soil.

🌿 Intense green foliage • 🪵 Moss pole included • ☀️ Soft to bright light • 💧 Moderate watering • 🏙️ 3 sizes available
The Epipremnum pinnatum or Scindapsus, also known as Pothos, grown here on a moss pole, is a vigorous tropical climbing plant native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. Its stems grow upward, attaching themselves to the pole with their aerial roots and unfolding intense green foliage with a highly structured upright habit. It is one of the most accessible climbing plants in our collection of indoor vines and climbing plants.
Toxic to cats and dogs — keep out of their reach.
Light & placement
Epipremnum pinnatum appreciates soft to bright light without direct sun. The more light it receives, the denser and more vigorous its foliage becomes — in overly dark conditions, the stems elongate and the foliage loses its vibrancy. Its upright habit makes it particularly effective in living room corners, near a bookcase or beside a bright window, where the balance between light and humidity suits it.
- Light: soft to bright indirect light — avoid direct sun.
- Placement: living room, office, bookcase — on the floor or on a piece of furniture to let the pole structure the space.
- Temperature: 18–27 °C, away from cold drafts.
Turn the pot a quarter turn every month to encourage even growth around the pole — without rotation, the stems always grow toward the same light source.
Watering & care
Epipremnum pinnatum tolerates missed waterings better than most tropical climbing plants. Let the top 2 to 3 centimetres of the substrate dry out before watering again — excess water softens the stems and encourages root rot. Watering indoor plants should be adjusted according to the season: more frequent in summer and much less frequent in winter.
- Frequency: once a week in summer, every 10–15 days in winter.
- Humidity: appreciates a slightly humid atmosphere — occasional misting is beneficial.
- Care: prune overly long stems to make the foliage denser and encourage new growth.
- Moss pole: lightly moisten the pole with each watering to encourage the aerial roots to attach to it.
Aerial roots that spontaneously attach to the moss pole are a sign that the plant is growing in good conditions — do not remove them.
Decor ideas & plant pairings
The moss pole gives Epipremnum pinnatum a natural, organic verticality that structures plant arrangements. Its intense green foliage catches the light and brings bright corners of a living room or office to life.
- In a bright living room corner, place it in the Natural Selin Basket — the basket's neutral woven texture contrasts with the dense green foliage and enhances the urban jungle look without weighing down the arrangement.
- Pair it with a Monstera deliciosa — the Monstera's broad perforated leaves and Epipremnum's upright climbing habit create a balanced tropical arrangement with varied heights and textures.
- For a duo of climbing plants, pair it with a Philodendron scandens in a nearby hanging pot — the Philodendron's trailing stems contrast with the pole's verticality and create immediate botanical depth.
- In a bright office, place it in the Capi Nature Groove taupe pot — the pot's neutral ribbed texture lets the pole's verticality and the foliage's density dominate the arrangement.
Pair it with climbing plants, trailing plants and floor plants in the composition of tropical settings.
Verdeia tips
- Wrap the stems around the pole as they grow: manually guide new shoots toward the pole to create a dense, harmonious plant — without guidance, the stems grow in every direction.
- Propagate easily from cuttings: each stem cut just below a node roots quickly in water or directly in the substrate — the simplest way to propagate from cuttings.
- Reduce watering as soon as the stems soften: soft stems at the base almost always indicate excess water — let the substrate dry out completely before watering again and check the drainage.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
