Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the Monstera adansonii have few holes in the jar? The holes develop with maturity and good indirect light. If new leaves come out without holes, move the jar closer to a window. Very young leaves are always whole — the holes appear at a certain stage of maturity.
Is this Monstera Syngonium pair toxic to pets? Yes, both plants contain irritating calcium oxalates and are toxic if ingested by dogs and cats. Keep this pair out of reach of your pets.

🌿 Tropical hydroponic duo • 🕳️ Perforated leaves + arrow-shaped leaves • 💧 Ultra-simple care • 🪴 Glass jar included • 📏 H30 cm | Jar Ø12 cm • ⚠️ Toxic to animals
This duo brings together two trailing tropical plants with complementary foliage in a glass jar: Monstera adansonii ("Monkey Leaf") with small, graphic perforated leaves, and Syngonium Green ("Goosefoot") with light, bright green arrow-shaped leaves. Grown hydroponically, their roots are immersed directly in the water — visible through the transparent glass.
Minimal care, an instantly graphic look, ready to display with nothing else needed. Placed high on a shelf, the two plants will gradually trail down in a cascade. A lovely option among our plants in jars and vases and plants ready to give as gifts.
Which hydroponic duo should you choose?
Three glass jar duos are available in our catalogue — each offers a different foliage contrast:
- Duo Monstera adansonii/Syngonium Green (this product) — two trailing plants with complementary green foliage. The most airy and delicate option.
- Duo Monstera adansonii/Clusia — graphic perforated leaves + round, fleshy leaves. The most contrasting option.
- Duo Clusia/Syngonium Green — fleshy leaves + delicate arrow-shaped foliage. The most balanced and classic option.
This duo is the only one to bring together two trailing plants — placed up high on a shelf, the stems of both plants will gradually lengthen and create a natural cascading effect.
Light & placement
This duo adapts to many spaces — light mainly influences the growth rate and the density of the Monstera's perforations.
- Ideal placement: moderate to bright indirect light — an east- or west-facing window, or a desk near a window.
- To avoid: direct sun that burns the leaves and heats the water, encouraging algae.
- Temperature: 18–26 °C, away from cold drafts and direct heat sources.
- Humidity: appreciates 50–70% humidity — mist the foliage occasionally in dry conditions.
Monstera develops more fenestrations with good indirect light. If new leaves emerge without holes, move the jar closer to a window.
Hydroponic care
- Water level: keep the water halfway up the jar — roots submerged, crowns above the water.
- Check: check the water level every 2 weeks and top it up with room-temperature water.
- Water change: every 2–3 months — empty and rinse the jar and roots, then fill it with fresh water.
- Water quality: filtered water or water left to stand for 24 hours — limescale builds up on the sides and roots.
- Fertilizer: add a few drops of diluted liquid fertilizer once a month in spring and summer.
- Pruning: trim stems that are too long — Monstera and Syngonium cuttings root easily in a new jar of water.
If green algae appear on the sides, move the jar away from direct light and clean the sides during the next water change.
Decor ideas & pairings
Two trailing plants in the same jar — placed up high, this duo creates a gradual cascading plant effect that evolves each week.
- On a high shelf: the stems of both plants will naturally grow downward and frame the jar with a curtain of complementary green foliage.
- In a plant display: pair it with other hydroponic arrangements from our jars and vases collection to create a cohesive display.
- As a gift: ready to display, with no repotting or accessories needed, it makes an original plant gift for a housewarming or birthday.
The roots visible in the glass grow and branch out over time — a changing display that evolves from week to week.
Verdeia tips
- Change the water regularly — it's the number-one rule — at least every 2–3 months. The buildup of minerals and organic waste eventually harms the roots without any immediate visible signs.
- Brown roots: act quickly — remove damaged roots with clean scissors, rinse thoroughly, and change the water completely. Prompt action can save the plant.
- The crown must never be submerged - keep the water level below the base of the stems. A crown that remains in water will cause the plant to rot within a few weeks.
- Propagate easily - cut a Monstera or Syngonium stem with 2-3 nodes and place it in a glass of water. It will root in 2-3 weeks without any special care.
- Acclimate upon delivery - leave it in a temperate room for 48 hours before placing it in its final location. The first few days matter: a few simple steps can help you welcome a new plant.
- ⚠️ Toxic to animals - both Monstera adansonii and Syngonium contain irritating calcium oxalates. Keep this duo out of reach of cats and dogs. In a home with pets, it is best to choose from the pet-friendly plants.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
