Frequently Asked Questions
Is Aloe Spider different from Aloe vera? Yes — Aloe Spider is a hybrid variety with thinner, longer, and more serrated leaves than Aloe vera, with a more graphic and spreading shape that gives it its spider plant name.
Can you grow a dragon fruit cactus indoors? Yes — Hylocereus undatus adapts well to pot cultivation indoors as long as it gets plenty of direct light, ideally on a south-facing windowsill.

🌵 Aloe Spider + Hylocereus undatus • 🎨 Contrasting graphic sculptural duo • 🌞 Full sun • 💧 Low to moderate watering • 🌿 Indoor & sheltered outdoor • 📏 H15 cm | Pot Ø10.5 cm
The Aloe Spider & Hylocereus undatus Duo combines two fascinating succulents with radically different silhouettes. The Aloe Spider captivates with its elongated, serrated leaves in a slightly bluish green. The Hylocereus undatus, or dragon fruit cactus, features large flat, ribbed stems capable of producing spectacular fragrant white flowers in summer — a graphic sculptural duo with no hassle.
Discover it in our cactus and succulents collection and in our indoor succulents selection.
Exposure & Location
Both plants enjoy abundant light — the more sun they receive, the stronger their shapes and colors become.
- Exposure: full sun or very bright light — sunny windowsill or balcony.
- Ideal: south-facing window, sheltered terrace or balcony.
- Temperature: 18 to 30 °C — bring them indoors as soon as temperatures drop below 10 °C.
Place both plants side by side in the same wide decorative pot to create a balanced graphic effect — their contrasting silhouettes enhance each other.
Watering & Care
The two plants have slightly different needs — the Aloe prefers drier conditions, the Hylocereus slightly more moisture in summer. Check our watering guide to find the right rhythm.
- Aloe Spider: low watering — let the soil dry completely between waterings.
- Hylocereus undatus: moderate watering in summer, very sparse in winter.
- Soil: essential — cactus mix (soil + sand + perlite).
- Fertilizer: once a month in spring and summer with succulent fertilizer.
Never let water stagnate in the saucer — slight water stress even enhances the colors of both plants.
Decor Ideas & Plant Combinations
The contrast between the rigid lines of the Aloe and the fleshy flat stems of the Hylocereus creates a natural sculptural composition — two radically opposite plant architectures that perfectly complement each other.
- In combination: enrich the composition with a Crassula tenelli or an Aloe paradisicum for a graphic succulent collection with varied silhouettes.
- Also discover: the Aloe Spider alone and the Hylocereus undatus alone if you want to separate them into two different spaces.
- Ideal decorative pot: matte ceramic, terracotta, or light concrete — natural materials match the graphic and minimalist aesthetic of the duo.
Verdeia Tips
- Take the Hylocereus outside in summer to trigger flowering — the dragon fruit cactus blooms mainly in response to strong light and day/night temperature variation. A summer outing outdoors in light shade or soft direct light is the best way to stimulate its spectacular nocturnal flowering.
- Clean the Aloe leaves regularly — wipe the Aloe Spider leaves with a soft, slightly damp cloth every 2 to 3 weeks to remove dust that accumulates in the serrations and dulls the characteristic bluish green foliage.
- Acclimate gradually to direct outdoor sun — if you take them outside in summer, expose them for a few hours a day at first before full exposure to avoid burns on skin used to indoor conditions.

Our Verdeia commitments
FAQ – Everything to know before adopting your Verdeia plant
How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
