Frequently Asked Questions
How to prevent algae in a glass hydroponic vase? Algae develop almost exclusively in the presence of direct light — keep the vase away from direct sunlight and place it in a bright spot without direct exposure. Regularly renewing the water every 2 weeks also prevents stagnation, which encourages their growth.
Can you give a hydroponic plant on a stand as a gift? Yes — it’s actually one of its main advantages. The neat presentation (glass sphere on a black metal stand) requires no additional packaging, maintenance is minimal, and the visual effect is immediately striking. It’s an original plant gift that suits both plant lovers and interior design enthusiasts.

🌿 Hydroponic Clusia • 💧 Roots visible in a glass sphere • 🖤 Elegant black metal stand • ☀️ Indirect light • 🎁 Ready to gift • 📏 H10 cm | Jar Ø5 cm
The Clusia in Victoria jar is a mini hydroponic plant presented in an elegant transparent glass sphere resting on a curved black metal stand. The Clusia rosea, also called the Autograph tree, is a tropical plant native to the tropical regions of Central and South America. Its roots grow directly in the water inside the sphere, visible through the glass — together they form a refined plant decor object, halfway between sculpture and living plant.
Soil-free, simplified care, neat presentation. Discover in our plant gift selection and in our collection of unique plants.
Which version of hydroponic Clusia should you choose?
Clusia is available in several glass container sizes, each with a distinct aesthetic:
- Clusia Victoria jar on black metal stand (this product) — glass sphere on curved black metal stand, H10 cm | Jar Ø5 cm. The most sculptural decor object.
- Clusia Samoa jar — rounded jar without stand, H10 cm | Jar Ø5 cm. The sleek rounded version.
- Clusia Samoa jar + LED — rounded jar with integrated LED lighting. The illuminated version.
- Clusia cylindrical jar — open cylindrical jar, H30 cm | Jar Ø12 cm. The more imposing version.
- Clusia sphere with cork stopper — glass sphere with stopper, H30 cm | Jar Ø12 cm. The large closed version.
- Hydroponic plant with golden leaf stand and wooden base — same spirit, golden stand and wooden base. The warm golden version.
Why choose the Victoria jar? It’s the most sculptural format — the glass sphere on its curved black metal stand creates a unique silhouette that looks more like a design object than just a plant. Perfect for contemporary interiors.
Exposure & location
The Clusia Victoria enjoys bright indirect light — avoid direct sunlight which overheats the water in the sphere and encourages algae growth.
- Light: bright indirect light to partial shade — avoid direct sunlight.
- Ideal for: desk, shelf, bedside table, bright living room or bathroom.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, without sudden changes.
Its compact size (H10 cm including stand) and distinctive shape make it a perfect decorative accent on a desk or small shelf — it takes up little space and immediately draws attention.
Watering & care
Same principle as all hydroponic plants in open vases — maintain a constant water level and change it regularly.
- Water level: keep the water at about 1/3 of the sphere’s height — roots should not be fully submerged.
- Renewal: change the water every 2 to 3 weeks with room temperature water.
- Water type: filtered, rain, or tap water left to rest for 24 hours.
- Fertilizer: a few drops of very diluted liquid fertilizer during the water change, once a month.
- Cleaning: gently rinse the sphere and roots each time you change the water.
If the water turns green or cloudy, change it immediately and move the plant to a spot with less direct light.
Decor ideas & combinations
Its glass sphere on black metal stand is decorative empty or full — it’s a living design object.
- Solo: place it alone on a desk or shelf — its sphere shape + black metal stand is striking enough on its own without needing companions.
- In arrangements: pair it with our hydroponic trio in bottles with wooden bases for a varied hydroponic plant composition.
- As a gift: its distinctive design and easy care make it one of the most original and memorable plant gifts in our catalog.
Verdeia advice
- Do not fill the sphere completely — keep the water at about 1/3 of the height. Roots need an air zone above the water level to absorb oxygen. A fully filled sphere gradually suffocates the roots.
- Change the water regularly — every 2 to 3 weeks, empty the sphere, rinse it and the roots with fresh water, then refill. The small size of the sphere means water needs to be changed more frequently than in a large vase.
- Roots turn brown over time — this is normal and harmless as long as the leaves remain healthy. Black and soft roots, however, indicate stagnant water: change the water more often.
- Non-toxic — Clusia poses no risk to cats, dogs, or children, making it an ideal choice for homes with pets.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
