Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a branched Dracaena Compacta and a single-stem one? The branched one grows on several stems from the base, giving it much more volume and leaf density than the single-stem model — a fuller, more architectural silhouette.
Does the Dracaena Compacta grow quickly? No — it is one of the slowest-growing Dracaenas, which allows it to keep its compact shape for a long time without outgrowing its space or needing frequent pruning.

🌿 Dense dark green foliage in rosettes • 💧 Moderate watering • ☁️ Indirect light / Partial shade • 🪴 Architectural structured form • 📏 H100 cm | Pot Ø27 cm
The Branched Dracaena Compacta, also called Dragon Tree, captivates with its dense multi-stem silhouette and deep green rosette foliage — a natural architectural form that instantly structures a space without any styling effort. Native to tropical Africa, it is one of the slowest and most compact Dracaenas — it maintains its shape for a long time without outgrowing. Discover our collection of large indoor plants and our XXL plants guide.
Its uniqueness compared to other Dracaenas: branching on several stems gives it volume and foliage density that single-stem models cannot offer. Our room-by-room plant guide helps you find the best placement.
Exposure & Location
The Dracaena Compacta enjoys natural light without direct sun and tolerates partial shade very well — it is a versatile plant that adapts to various lighting conditions.
- Exposure: indirect light to partial shade — avoid full sun which burns the leaves.
- Ideal for: spacious living room, entrance hall, office, relaxation area.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, protected from cold drafts.
- Substrate: rich, well-drained, and slightly moist potting soil.
Watering & Care
- Watering: moderate — let the top layer of the substrate dry out before watering. Dracaena prefers slight dryness over excess moisture.
- Frequency: about once a week in summer, every two to three weeks in winter.
- Drainage: essential — avoid standing water which causes root rot.
- Fertilizer: once a month from March to September to support growth.
- Care: clean the leaves with a damp cloth to restore shine and vitality.
Decor Ideas & Plant Combinations
Its dense vertical silhouette and deep green rosette foliage make it an ideal structuring plant — placed in a corner, it visually defines the space without cluttering it.
- In XXL composition: pair it with a Branched Ficus lyrata and an Aglaonema B.J. Freedman — three large plants, three contrasting silhouettes, same tolerance for indirect light.
- In Dragon Tree collection: pair it with the Dracaena Anita with a more slender form — same genus, two different foliage architectures, a coherent and complementary duo.
- Decorative pot: a large matte ceramic, stoneware, or light concrete decorative pot highlights the architectural form without competing with the dark foliage.
Verdeia Tips
- Prefer non-calcareous water: Dracaena Compacta is sensitive to fluoride in tap water — use filtered or air-exposed water to avoid brown tips on leaves.
- Rotate the pot regularly: monthly rotation ensures symmetrical growth of the rosettes — without it, stems gradually lean toward the light source.
- Repot every two years: in spring into a slightly larger pot — renewing the substrate stimulates growth and prevents mineral salt buildup that burns roots.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
