The pink Kalanchoe (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana) is a flowering succulent native to Madagascar, renowned for its clusters of small pink flowers and particularly long-lasting blooms. Hardy and easy to care for, it comes in its included glossy, curved pale pink ceramic pot — the same shape, pinched in at the middle, as our beige pot, but in pink. The Kalanchoe is a light-loving plant — the more light it receives, the more abundant and long-lasting its blooms will be.
- Light: bright to very bright light — tolerates a few hours of gentle direct sun.
- Ideal: sunny windowsill, bright desk, console table near a glass door or window.
- Temperature: 15 to 25 °C, protected from cold drafts.
- Substrate: very well-draining — cactus potting mix with sand or perlite.
A south- or east-facing windowsill is its ideal placement — direct morning light encourages blooming and intensifies the pink tones of the petals.

As a succulent plant, the Kalanchoe needs very little water — excess moisture is its only real danger. The right watering schedule depends on how quickly the substrate dries out.

- Bright light for long-lasting blooms — place it in the brightest spot available. The more light it receives, the more pink buds it will produce and the longer it will bloom. In a dark location, the buds remain closed and the plant quickly becomes depleted.
- Encouraging new blooms — after the main flowering period, place the Kalanchoe in a cool spot (15–17 °C) with long nights for 4 to 6 weeks. Cycles can be planned using the flowering calendar.
- Never mist — the Kalanchoe is a succulent that dislikes moisture on its leaves and flowers. Water only at the base and never use a mister.
