Each Cactus Mix contains 6 assorted varieties in Ø12 cm pots — the composition varies according to seasonal availability, always with complementary silhouettes and textures.
- Varied silhouettes: columns, globes, paddles, angled shapes — very different plant architectures that enhance one another.
- Contrasting textures: long or short spines, smooth, ribbed, or tuberculate skin.
- Identical needs: they all share the same needs for full sun and very little watering.

Light & placement
Cacti love sun and warmth — the more direct light they receive, the more their natural shapes and colors intensify.
- Light: full sun to bright direct light — a south-facing windowsill or sunny balcony.
- Ideal location: a very bright window, conservatory, balcony, or Mediterranean terrace.
- Temperature: 18 to 30 °C — they tolerate heat but are sensitive to cold and humidity.
- Humidity: low to nonexistent — they prefer dry environments.
In summer, gradually acclimate them to direct outdoor sun over several weeks to prevent burns on skin accustomed to indoor conditions.
Watering & care
Cacti are among the least demanding plants when it comes to watering — they store water in their tissues and tolerate drought perfectly well. The right watering schedule depends on how quickly the substrate dries.
- Watering: very little — water only when the substrate is completely dry.
- Frequency: every 3 to 4 weeks in summer, practically not at all in winter.
- Substrate: essential — special cactus soil or a soil + sand + perlite mix.
- Golden rule: always water at the base, never over the plant — water on the skin encourages rot.
In winter, almost completely stop watering — cacti enter dormancy and need only light and warmth.
Decor ideas & plant pairings
Their geometric shapes and varied textures naturally create a sculptural composition — botanical objects that work equally well on their own or grouped together.
- For pairing: pair them with an Opuntia rubescens or a Crassula tenelli to enrich the composition with even more contrasting silhouettes and textures.
- Ideal decorative pots: terracotta, concrete, or matte ceramic — natural and mineral materials complement the arid, graphic character of cacti.
- Display idea: group them on a tray or in a planter with decorative sand for an instant chic desert look.
Verdeia tips
- Handle with care — cactus spines can be very sharp. Use thick gloves or tongs when handling them during repotting or moving. Wrapping a newspaper around the pot is a simple and effective way to grip the plant without getting pricked.
- Never leave water standing in the saucer — cactus roots hate stagnant moisture, which quickly causes root rot. Always empty the saucer after watering and use a very free-draining potting mix in a pot with drainage holes.
- Slightly toxic if ingested — some cacti contain substances that are mildly irritating if ingested. Keep them out of reach of pets and young children.
