🌿 2 complementary Alocasia varieties • 🪴 2 natural Selin baskets included • 🎨 Spectacular tropical foliage • ☀️ Partial shade • 💧 Regular watering
This Alocasia pack brings together two spectacular varieties of elephant ears native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia: Alocasia Cucullata with large, glossy green heart-shaped leaves, and Alocasia Lauterbachiana with slender dark green leaves and spectacular veins. Two silhouettes, two textures, one lush tropical composition.
The pack includes 2 Selin baskets made from natural fiber suitable for pots Ø19 cm — ready to set up for an instant decorative effect. Pair them with other Alocasias and tropical plants.
The 2 varieties in this pack
Two Alocasia with distinct personalities, chosen to complement each other visually:
- Alocasia cucullata (elephant ear) - H60 cm | Pot Ø19 cm - large, glossy green heart-shaped leaves and a bright upright habit. Brings freshness and brightness.
- Alocasia Lauterbachiana (lance-leaved elephant ear) - H75 cm | Pot Ø19 cm - slender dark green leaves with striking, spectacular veins and a structured, graphic habit. Brings depth and contrast.
Why this duo? The Cucullata's rounded, bright shape contrasts perfectly with the Lauterbachiana's slender, graphic leaves — two plants that enhance each other. Also discover our Cucullata + Wentii pack and our Zebrina + Lauterbachiana pack for other combinations.
Light & placement
Both Alocasia in this pack thrive in partial shade with bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch their delicate leaves - the Lauterbachiana's veins are particularly sensitive.
- Light: partial shade, bright indirect light.
- Ideal location: living room, bedroom, office or entrance without direct sun.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, without sudden changes or drafts.
- Substrate: rich, light and well-drained - houseplant soil with perlite.
Place them side by side or staggered to create a tropical jungle effect - their difference in height (60 cm vs 75 cm) naturally adds depth.
Watering & care
Alocasia love humidity but hate stagnant water — the finger test will help you avoid overwatering. Caring for Alocasias depends on humidity, light and measured watering.
- Watering: regular — keep the substrate slightly moist without waterlogging it.
- Frequency: once or twice a week in spring and summer, reduced in winter.
- Drainage: essential - use pots with drainage holes and a well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: prefers 60 to 80% humidity - mist regularly or place near a humidifier.
- Fertilizer: every 2 to 4 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted liquid houseplant fertilizer.
- Cleaning: gently wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to preserve their shine.
Alocasia love humidity - the bathroom is their ideal location, or mist the foliage regularly.
Decor ideas & plant pairings
With their spectacular tropical foliage and natural Selin baskets, this duo instantly creates a lush urban jungle atmosphere.
- Pairing: add a Strelitzia Nicolai for verticality or a Monstera deliciosa for split leaves — together, they create a complete urban jungle.
- Baskets included: the natural Selin baskets create instant visual harmony and enhance the slender stems of both Alocasia.
- Atmosphere: perfect as a statement duo in a large living room or spacious entrance - two shapes, two textures, one coherent tropical world.
Place the Lauterbachiana slightly farther back and the Cucullata in front - their differences in shape and height create a naturally balanced composition.
Verdeia tips
- Humidity is their number-one need - mist the leaves several times a week or place the pots on a saucer filled with damp clay pebbles. Below 60% humidity, the leaf edges begin to turn brown.
- Are the leaves drooping? They're thirsty - water thoroughly and they will perk up within a few hours. If they remain drooping after watering, check that the roots are not suffocating from chronic excess water.
- Older leaves turning yellow at the base - this is natural, as foliage renewal is continuous in Alocasia. Cut yellowing leaves flush with the stem using clean pruning shears to maintain a neat habit.
- Repot every 1 to 2 years in spring — Alocasia grow quickly and deplete their substrate rapidly. Repotting should be done with a pot that is only slightly larger and good drainage.

How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Orders ship within 48 working hours, with tracked delivery in 2 to 5 working days via DPD. Shipping costs and the free-shipping threshold depend on your country — see our delivery page. You receive a tracking link as soon as your parcel leaves.
What should I do when my plant arrives?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What should I do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
