🌿 Arching fronds with broad leaflets • 📏 2 heights: 150 or 180 cm • 🎋 Slender stems with ringed nodes • 🌑 No light or watering needed • 🐾 Non-toxic to pets • ✨ Green all year round
The artificial Kentia captures the look of the Howea forsteriana palm: several slender stems with ringed nodes, like bamboo canes, carry arching fronds with broad, soft green leaflets. Small shoots at the base fill out the clump and give it a realistic look, even up close.
It comes in 150 cm, for a living room corner or a bedroom, and in 180 cm, fuller with fronds, to dress a large corner or a room with a high ceiling. Among our artificial plants, it is one of the most tropical: it keeps its fronds and colour all year round, whether in a dark room or an air-conditioned office.
Which height should you choose?
The two heights share the same model, with the 180 cm having more fronds — here's how to choose depending on the spot:
- 150 cm: several slender stems, arching fronds and small shoots at the base. For a bedroom, an entryway or a living room corner. Delivered in a Ø12 cm pot.
- 180 cm: more fronds, for a fuller silhouette. To dress a large corner, a hallway or a reception area with a high ceiling. Delivered in a Ø15 cm pot.
For a more natural green corner, pair the two heights: the 180 cm at the back and the 150 cm in front, slightly offset.
Artificial or real Kentia?
The artificial Kentia brings the fronds of the Howea forsteriana to places where a real plant would lack light: hallway, windowless bathroom, office far from the windows, holiday home. If your room is bright and you enjoy watching a plant grow, our Howea forsteriana (Kentia palm) remains a safe bet.
Where to place it?
As it needs no light, it can go wherever it makes the most impact, even far from a window.
- Dark rooms: hallway, entryway, windowless bathroom, corner far from the windows.
- Workspaces: office, waiting room, reception, shop window.
- Living spaces: living room, bedroom, dining room, next to a sofa or a bookcase.
- Avoid: prolonged direct sun behind glass, which fades the colours over time, and placing it right next to a radiator.
It is designed for indoor use: on a balcony or terrace, sun and rain would damage its fronds.
Setting up & care
When it arrives, take a few minutes to give it its final shape: that's what makes the difference between a stiff artificial plant and a Kentia that looks alive.
- Shaping: spread the stems slightly apart and open the fronds in several directions, at different heights.
- Dusting: a quick pass with a feather duster or soft cloth from time to time.
- Cleaning: a slightly damp cloth over the fronds, then a dry cloth.
- Over time: it lasts from one year to the next, with no repotting or fertiliser.
Let a few fronds fall outwards in an arc, as on a real palm: the result instantly looks more natural.
Decor ideas & pairings
Its arching fronds add a tropical touch, and it lends itself to arrangements, colors, and textures just like a real plant.
- For a contemporary finish, slip the pot into the Elho B.for Soft Anthracite decorative pot, in Ø14 cm for the 150 cm and Ø18 cm for the 180 cm — the matt anthracite brings out the green of the fronds.
- For a touch of colour, dress the 150 cm in the Elho Jazz Round decorative pot in amber yellow in Ø14 cm — its warm shade warms up the green of the foliage.
- For a contrast of foliage, place our artificial Dracaena reflexa, our artificial eucalyptus or our artificial Monstera deliciosa next to it — their striped, grey-green or cut leaves echo the fronds of the Kentia.
- For a console or table, add a bouquet from our selection of artificial flowers and bouquets, which won't wilt either.
In front of a white wall or a neutral background, the pattern of the fronds stands out clearly and gives the room structure.
Verdeia tips
- Hide the nursery pot: slipped into a decorative pot from our selection of pots and decorative pots, it instantly looks like a real plant.
- Add a top layer: a few clay pebbles or a little moss on top of the pot complete the illusion.
- Create a green corner: explore our full range of artificial plants and flowers to combine different foliage and different heights.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Orders ship within 48 working hours, with tracked delivery in 2 to 5 working days via DPD. Shipping costs and the free-shipping threshold depend on your country — see our delivery page. You receive a tracking link as soon as your parcel leaves.
What should I do when my plant arrives?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What should I do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
