Frequently Asked Questions
Are Alocasias difficult to care for? They require more attention than easy-care plants, mainly in two areas: ambient humidity must stay high (60-80%) and watering must be regular without ever soaking the soil. Once these two conditions are met, they grow quickly and spectacularly.
Why group several Alocasias together? Grouped plants collectively create a more humid microclimate — each transpires and benefits from the moisture released by the others. A trio of Alocasias in the same space needs less misting than a single isolated plant.

🌿 3 complementary Alocasia varieties • 🎨 Spectacular tropical foliage • ☀️ Partial shade • 💧 Regular watering
This Alocasia trio brings together three spectacular varieties of Elephant Ears native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia: the Alocasia Zebrina with its unique black and white striped stems, the Alocasia Cucullata with large shiny green heart-shaped leaves, and the Alocasia Lauterbachiana with slender dark green leaves featuring striking veins. Three shapes, three textures, one majestic tropical arrangement.
Discover more in our complete Alocasia collection and in our tropical selection. This pack is also available with 2 Selin baskets included for a turnkey decorative effect.
The 3 varieties in this pack
Three Alocasia with distinct personalities, chosen to visually complement each other:
- Alocasia Zebrina (Zebra Elephant Ear) — H75 cm | Pot Ø19 cm — spectacular black and white striped stems, large dark green arrow-shaped leaves. Adds contrast and originality.
- Alocasia Cucullata (Elephant Ear) — H60 cm | Pot Ø19 cm — large shiny green heart-shaped leaves, upright bright habit. Adds freshness and brightness.
- Alocasia Lauterbachiana (Lance-shaped Elephant Ear) — H75 cm | Pot Ø19 cm — slender dark green leaves with prominent veins, structured and graphic habit. Adds depth and contrast.
Why this trio? The striped stems of the Zebrina, the shiny green of the Cucullata, and the striking veins of the Lauterbachiana create three radically different visual effects — a composition that changes with the viewing angle. Check out our complete Alocasia guide to learn more about each variety.
Light & location
All three Alocasia share the same light requirements — partial shade with bright indirect light, never direct sunlight which would burn their delicate leaves.
- Exposure: partial shade, bright indirect light.
- Ideal: living room, bedroom, office, or hallway without direct sun.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, without sudden changes or drafts.
- Substrate: rich, light, and well-draining — potting soil for green plants with perlite.
Arrange them in a triangle or staggered line — their height differences (60 cm and 75 cm) naturally create depth without effort.
Watering & care
The three plants have similar water needs — water them on the same day while checking the substrate of each. The finger test will help you avoid over- or under-watering.
- Watering: regular — keep the substrate slightly moist without soaking.
- Frequency: 1 to 2 times per week in spring-summer, reduced in winter.
- Drainage: essential — use pots with drainage holes and well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: prefers 60 to 80% humidity — mist regularly or place near a humidifier.
- Fertilizer: every 2 to 4 weeks in spring-summer with diluted liquid fertilizer for green plants.
- Cleaning: gently wipe leaves with a damp cloth — on the Zebrina, also clean the striped stems to highlight their unique pattern.
Leaves droop when Alocasia are thirsty — water thoroughly and they will straighten up within a few hours.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
This trio alone is enough to create a spectacular urban jungle corner — but it can be enhanced with a few complementary plants.
- In combination: add a Strelitzia Nicolai for verticality or a Monstera deliciosa for cut leaves — the composition takes on another dimension. Find more ideas in our tropical plant combination guide.
- Ideal pot: a natural Selin basket per plant for a bohemian visual harmony, or matte ceramic pots for a more graphic and contemporary look.
- Ambiance: perfect as a statement trio in a large living room or spacious entryway — three shapes, three textures, one coherent tropical universe.
Verdeia tips
- Humidity is their number one need — mist the leaves several times a week or place pots on a saucer filled with moist clay pebbles. Below 60% humidity, leaf edges start to brown on all three varieties.
- Old leaves yellow at the base — this is natural, as Alocasia continuously renew their foliage. Cut yellowed leaves at the stem base with clean pruning shears to keep a neat and airy habit.
- Highlight the Zebrina’s striped stems — clean them regularly with a damp cloth. This is the most spectacular feature of the trio — it would be a shame to let dust cover it.
- Repot every 1 to 2 years in spring — Alocasia grow fast and quickly exhaust their substrate. Check our repotting guide to properly prepare the operation for all three plants at once.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
