Polystichum Tsussimense — Korean Fern — Ø12 cm — H30 cm
🌿 Delicate light green foliage • 🎨 Finely cut fronds • ☀️ Partial shade to shade • 💧 Regular watering • 🌱 Elegant compact fern • 🐾 Non-toxic
The Polystichum Tsussimense, also called Korean Fern, is a compact and delicate indoor fern known for its finely cut light green fronds that create an airy and graceful effect. This fascinating variety features delicately sculpted leaves forming a dense and elegant rosette, adding a touch of freshness and lightness to your urban jungle.
Native to the temperate forests of East Asia (Korea, Japan, China), Polystichum naturally grows in shaded, humid understories where it develops its lush and delicate fronds. With its compact height of 30 cm and pot diameter of 12 cm, it’s perfect for small spaces, offices, shelves, or as a delicate accent in your urban jungle. Its fine texture and graceful form make it a true plant gem that brings softness and elegance to your interior.
Exposure & placement
The Polystichum Tsussimense prefers partial shade to shade with soft indirect light. It tolerates low-light spaces well but avoid direct sunlight that burns its delicate fronds.
- Exposure: Partial shade to shade, soft indirect light.
- Ideal: bathroom, office, bedroom, living room, or shaded room.
- Temperature: 15 to 22 °C, without sudden changes.
- Substrate: light, rich, and well-drained, fern or green plant potting mix with perlite.
Verdeia tip: ferns love humidity — the bathroom is the ideal spot for this delicate beauty.
Watering & care
- Watering: regular; keep the substrate slightly moist without soaking.
- Frequency: about 1-2 times per week in spring and summer, reduce slightly in winter.
- Drainage: essential — use a pot with drainage holes and well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: prefers 60-80% humidity, mist regularly or place near a humidifier.
- Fertilizer: once a month in spring and summer with a liquid fertilizer for green plants diluted by half.
- Cleaning: gently remove dead or yellowing fronds at the base.
Never water directly in the center of the rosette — water around it to avoid crown rot.
Decor ideas & plant pairings
With its tender green finely cut fronds, the Polystichum Tsussimense adds a touch of delicacy and freshness to your urban jungle. It creates an airy and graceful focal point.
- Pair with: Asplenium, Calathea, Maranta, Fittonia, or other shade plants to create a lush and soothing urban jungle.
- Ideal pot: matte ceramic decorative pot (white, gray, terracotta) or woven basket to highlight the delicacy of the foliage.

What to do upon receiving my plant?
