Codiaeum variegatum 'Sunny Star', or Croton, is a tropical plant native to the bright forests of Southeast Asia and Oceania. Its leathery, glossy leaves combine golden yellow, vivid orange, flamboyant red, and deep green — a botanical fireworks display in which each leaf bears a unique pattern. - Do not move it too often — the Croton may lose leaves with every change of environment. Choose its permanent location from the start and avoid drafts.
- Bright light = intense colors — this is the absolute rule for Crotons. A dark location produces dull green foliage. Move it closer to a window as soon as the colors fade.
- Repot every 2-3 years — in spring, in a rich, well-draining substrate. Repotting in spring is sufficient, using a pot only slightly larger.
