🌿 3 complementary Alocasia varieties • 🎨 Spectacular tropical foliage • ☀️ Partial shade • 💧 Regular watering
This Alocasia trio brings together three spectacular varieties of elephant ears native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia: Alocasia zebrina with unique black-and-white striped stems, Alocasia Cucullata with large, glossy green heart-shaped leaves, and Alocasia Lauterbachiana with slender dark green leaves and spectacular veining. Three silhouettes, three textures, one majestic tropical composition.
Pair them with other Alocasias and tropical plants. This pack is also available with 2 Selin baskets included for a ready-to-style decor effect.
The 3 varieties in this pack
Three Alocasias with distinct personalities, chosen to complement one another visually:
- Alocasia zebrina (striped elephant ear) — H75 cm | Pot Ø19 cm — spectacular black-and-white striped stems and large dark green arrow-shaped leaves. Adds contrast and originality.
- Alocasia cucullata (elephant ear) — H60 cm | Pot Ø19 cm — large, glossy green heart-shaped leaves with a bright, upright form. Adds freshness and brightness.
- Alocasia Lauterbachiana (lance-shaped elephant ear) — H75 cm | Pot Ø19 cm — slender dark green leaves with prominent veins and a structured, graphic form. Adds depth and contrast.
Why this trio? Zebrina's striped stems, Cucullata's glossy green foliage, and Lauterbachiana's spectacular veins create three radically different visual effects — a composition that changes depending on the viewing angle. Each Alocasia variety has its own size and requirements.
Light & placement
All three Alocasias share the same light requirements - partial shade with bright, indirect light, never direct sun, which would scorch their delicate leaves.
- Light: partial shade, bright indirect light.
- Ideal location: living room, bedroom, office, or entrance without direct sun.
- Temperature: 18 to 25 °C, without sudden changes or drafts.
- Substrate: rich, light, and well-draining - houseplant potting soil with perlite.
Arrange them in a triangle or offset line - their different heights (60 cm and 75 cm) naturally create depth without any compositional effort.
Watering & care
All three plants have similar water requirements — water them on the same day while checking each plant's substrate. The finger test will help you avoid both overwatering and underwatering.
- Watering: regular — keep the substrate slightly moist without waterlogging it.
- Frequency: 1 to 2 times per week in spring and summer, reduced in winter.
- Drainage: essential - use pots with drainage holes and a well-draining substrate.
- Humidity: prefers 60 to 80% humidity - mist regularly or place near a humidifier.
- Fertilizer: every 2 to 4 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted liquid houseplant fertilizer.
- Cleaning: gently wipe the leaves with a damp cloth - on Zebrina, also clean the striped stems to highlight their unique pattern.
The leaves droop when Alocasias are thirsty - water generously and they will stand upright again within a few hours.
Decor ideas & plant pairings
This trio is enough on its own to create a spectacular urban jungle corner - but it becomes even richer with a few complementary plants.
- Pairing: add a Strelitzia Nicolai for height or a Monstera deliciosa for its split fronds — the composition takes on a new dimension. Incorporate them into tropical plant combinations.
- Ideal pot: one natural Selin basket per plant for a harmonious bohemian look, or matte ceramic pots for a more graphic, contemporary finish.
- Atmosphere: perfect as a statement trio in a large living room or spacious entrance - three shapes, three textures, one cohesive tropical world.
Verdeia tips
- Humidity is their number one need - mist the leaves several times a week or place the pots on a saucer filled with damp clay pebbles. Below 60% humidity, the leaf edges on all three varieties begin to turn brown.
- Older leaves turn yellow at the base - this is natural, as Alocasias continuously renew their foliage. Cut yellowing leaves close to the stem with clean pruning shears to maintain a neat, airy form.
- Highlight Zebrina's striped stems - clean them regularly with a damp cloth. They are the trio's most spectacular feature - it would be a shame to let dust cover them.
- Repot every 1 to 2 years in spring — Alocasias grow quickly and use up their substrate fast. All three plants can be repotted at the same time, in spring.

How are my plants prepared before shipping?
All our plants are selected from our European partner nurseries. Before shipping, they are watered, cleaned, and protected with breathable, secure packaging. Each package is designed to ensure your plant arrives in perfect health, without any transport-related stress.
Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Orders ship within 48 working hours, with tracked delivery in 2 to 5 working days via DPD. Shipping costs and the free-shipping threshold depend on your country — see our delivery page. You receive a tracking link as soon as your parcel leaves.
What should I do when my plant arrives?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What should I do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
