💗 Large deep pink flower balls • 🔁 Repeat-flowering from June to October • 🌸 Delivered in bud, 7 to 12 flower heads • ⛅ Partial shade • ❄️ Hardy down to -25 °C • 🪴 Compact habit, ideal in a pot
The Hydrangea macrophylla Forever & Ever® Rose is a large-flowered hydrangea from a repeat-flowering series: it flowers both on the previous year's wood and on the current year's shoots. European horticultural selection, it brings pink flowers that renew from June until the first frosts to partial shade balconies and terraces.
Its special feature is its reliability: while a classic hydrangea will not flower if frost or overly severe pruning has removed the previous year's buds, Forever & Ever® forms flowers again on its new shoots. Delivered in bud, 55 cm tall in a 23 cm pot, it bears 7 to 12 flower heads that open light green before turning pink.
Which hydrangea should you choose?
The Hydrangea plants in the catalogue do not have the same flowering or the same use:
- Forever & Ever® (this plant) — repeat-flowering: it blooms again on the current year's shoots, even after a harsh winter or improper pruning. The surest choice for flowering every year.
- Magical® Revolution — flowers that change color from July to October, an award-winning variety from the Royal Horticultural Society. The most spectacular in late summer.
- Magical® Jewel — starts lime green and finishes purplish red. The most contrasting in the series.
- Magical® Greenfire — pink flamed with green. The most tolerant of full sun.
- Magical® Noblesse — almond green, then pure white, then bright green. The best suited to shade.
- Magical® Ruby Tuesday — from green to intense red. The deepest red in the series.
- 'Pink Annabelle' — Hydrangea arborescens with large flower balls on sturdy stems, to be cut back hard every winter. The hardiest.
- Hydrangea petiolaris — the only climber, to cover a wall in the shade.
Forever & Ever® is also available in Blue, Red, White and Purple.
Exposure & location
The pink flowers do not tolerate afternoon sun well: they fade and turn brown at the edges after a few hot days, whereas in partial shade they retain their intensity for several weeks.
- Exposure: partial shade, morning sun or light afternoon shade.
- Location: east- or northwest-facing terrace, entrance, against a wall, shaded courtyard.
- Hardiness in a pot: down to -25 °C — it can remain outdoors in winter.
- Soil type: cool, rich, neutral to slightly alkaline — this is what preserves the pink color.
An east-facing terrace is the ideal location: morning sun intensifies the color, while afternoon shade preserves it.
Watering & care
The hydrangea is one of the most water-hungry shrubs in the catalog: when grown in a pot, it may need daily watering in hot weather. An absence of a few days in summer requires preparation, and leaves that turn yellow between the veins indicate a substrate that is too poor.
- Watering: abundant and regular — every two to three days in summer, much less in winter.
- Water: tap water is suitable — unlike blue varieties, pink ones are not sensitive to limescale.
- Fertilizer: fertilizer for flowering plants, from March to July — avoid fertilizers for blue hydrangeas, which contain aluminum sulfate.
- Pruning: remove faded flowers just above the first pair of buds, in March.
- Repotting: into a wider pot the following spring, using potting soil for flowering plants.
Removing faded flowers during the summer encourages the production of new flower heads on the current year's shoots.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
The hydrangea's pink pairs well with deep greens and whites rather than bright colors: choosing neighbors according to exposure avoids combining plants with opposite needs.
- For a pink and white duo, pair it with Hydrangea 'Strong Annabelle' — same exposure, same water requirements, and the pure white makes the pink appear more intense.
- To dress the base, plant a 'Ice Dance' Carex at the edge of the pot — its fine foliage edged in cream lightens the mass of the large globes.
- For winter interest, place a 'Eve Price' laurustinus next to it — evergreen, it flowers pale pink from November to March, when the hydrangea is dormant.
- To enhance the pot, choose the taupe Capi Nature Groove pot — its warm, neutral shade complements the pink without competing with it, whereas a colourful pot would overpower it.
Let the last flowers dry on the plant in autumn: they take on old-rose tones and remain decorative all winter.
Verdeia tips
- Avoid ericaceous soil: in acidic soil, the hydrangea absorbs aluminium from the soil and its pink flowers turn mauve. Potting soil for flowering plants preserves the original colour.
- Never cut the stems in autumn: the dried flowers protect the buds from the cold. Wait until March to remove them.
- Give it instead of a bouquet: the pink hydrangea symbolizes gratitude and sincere affection, and flowers again every year. Our selection of plants to give as gifts and their meaning helps you choose according to the occasion.

What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
