Frequently Asked Questions
Where should you place a white hydrangea? In partial shade, on an east- or north-facing terrace, where the white brightens the less well-lit corners.
Which pot should you choose for a white hydrangea? A dark, anthracite, or gray pot makes the white stand out much better than a light-colored pot.

🤍 Large pure white flower heads • 🔁 Repeat flowering from June to October • 🌸 Delivered in bud, 7 to 12 flower heads • ⛅ Partial shade • ❄️ Hardy down to -25 °C • 🪴 Compact habit, ideal for growing in a pot
The Hydrangea macrophylla Forever & Ever® Blanc is a big-balled hydrangea from a repeat-flowering series: it flowers both on the previous year's wood and on the current year's shoots. European horticultural selection, it is one of the plants for shady balconies that flower the longest, from June through October.
Where a classic hydrangea may remain flowerless if frost or overly severe pruning has removed the previous year's buds, Forever & Ever® produces flowers again on its new shoots. Delivered in bud, standing 55 cm tall in a 23 cm pot, it bears 7 to 12 flower heads that open light green before turning white.
Which hydrangea should you choose?
The Hydrangea varieties in the catalog do not have the same flowering period or the same uses:
- Forever & Ever® (this plant) — repeat-flowering: it blooms again on the current year's shoots, even after a harsh winter or an incorrect pruning. The safest choice for flowering every year.
- Magical® Revolution — flowers that change color from July to October, an award-winning variety from the Royal Horticultural Society. The most spectacular at the end of summer.
- Magical® Jewel — starts lime green and ends deep purple-red. The most contrasting in the series.
- Magical® Greenfire — pink flamed with green. The most tolerant of full sun.
- Magical® Noblesse — almond green, then pure white, then vivid green. The best suited to the shade.
- Magical® Ruby Tuesday — from green to deep red. The deepest red in the series.
- 'Strong Annabelle' — Hydrangea arborescens with large flower heads on sturdy stems, cut back hard every winter. The hardiest.
- Hydrangea petiolaris — the only climbing variety, perfect for covering a wall in the shade.
Forever & Ever® is also available in Blue, Rose, Red and Purple.
Exposure & location
White is the color that reflects the most light: this is the hydrangea to choose for brightening a partially shaded corner, where a red or purple one would appear dark.
- Exposure: partial shade, morning sun or light afternoon shade.
- Location: east- or north-facing terrace, entrance, inner courtyard, shaded base of a wall.
- Hardiness in a pot: down to -25 °C — it stays outdoors in winter.
- Soil type: cool, rich and well-drained, regardless of pH.
In afternoon sun, white flowers turn brown at the edges within a few days: this is the color most susceptible to scorch.
Watering & care
The hydrangea is one of the most water-hungry shrubs in the catalog, but in a pot it does not tolerate standing water. Testing the substrate's moisture with your finger prevents both extremes, and limp leaves despite waterlogged substrate indicate suffocating roots.
- Watering: generous and regular — every two to three days in summer, much less in winter.
- Water: tap water is suitable — limescale does not affect the white color.
- Fertilizer: fertilizer for flowering plants, from March to July.
- Pruning: remove faded flowers just above the first pair of buds, in March.
- Repotting: into a wider pot the following spring, using compost for flowering plants.
Removing faded flowers during the summer encourages the production of new flower heads on the year's shoots.
Decor ideas & plant combinations
White pairs with every color and structures a composition on a balcony with little sun, where it brings the missing light.
- For a blue and white duo, pair it with Forever & Ever® Bleu — same size, same flowering, and the most classic combination for seaside gardens.
- For a woodland composition, plant a Korean fern at its base — its dark green, finely divided foliage makes the large white flower heads stand out.
- For winter continuity, place a Laurier-tin alongside it — evergreen, it extends the white theme with its flowering from November to March.
- To enhance the pot, choose the Capi Nature Skin anthracite pot — the contrast with the dark grey makes the white shine, whereas a light-coloured pot would make it disappear.
At the end of the season, the white flowers take on green and then pinkish hues as they age: leave them to dry on the plant, where they remain decorative all winter.
Verdeia tips
- Choose it for shady corners: in partial shade, the white remains visible from a distance and brightens up a patio at dusk, when other colours fade.
- Never cut the stems in autumn: the dried flowers protect the buds from the cold. Wait until March to remove them.
- Care on arrival: water it thoroughly upon receipt and leave it in the shade for a few days before placing it in its final position. Our advice on welcoming a new plant properly explains these first few days in detail.

Will the plant look exactly like the photo?
The photos accurately represent the variety and the stated size. Since each plant is unique, slight differences in shape, foliage, or color may occur — and that’s part of their charm.
What are the delivery times and conditions?
Shipping is done within 48 business hours, with tracked delivery within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery costs €5.60 — free for orders over €50. You will receive a tracking link as soon as the package is shipped.
What to do upon receiving my plant?
Open your package as soon as you receive it and carefully remove the plant from its packaging. Let it acclimate for 24 hours in its new environment before watering. If it has been slightly stressed during transport, it will recover its shape after one or two days in the light.
What to do if my plant arrives damaged?
Contact us within 48 hours with a photo of the issue. Our team will assess the situation and offer you the best solution: replacement, partial refund, or recovery advice.
Can I return a plant?
Since plants are living beings, standard returns are not possible. However, we guarantee good health upon delivery: if the plant arrives damaged, it will be replaced free of charge. For any other cases (order error, decorative pot, accessory), returns are possible within 14 days.
